WTK What would cause hard shifting in trip tronic trans

Yea fellas, recently purchased a Roro impreza 2008 hatch bones stock 1.5, Car works great but I noticed that I get a hard shift between second and first gear on deceleration, especially when coming to quick stop, it doesn't happen every time I accelerate but I wondered if anyone ever experienced this and what could be the cause?

I have some buddies telling me get the car engine codes checked to see what is going on and to check the transmission fluid levels etc...

Could this just mean I need to do a flush an change of transmission fluid?

Any recommendations would help.

had the same problem, with the same car... changed the fluid and the problem stopped

had the same problem, also in automatic mode when accelerating from 1st to 2nd gear the car goes right up to red (i think 7000rmps) not sure before it changes to second. Sounds like the car is straining a bit? any ideas?

Check to see if there is a shift solenoid malfunction using a scan tool. This is in the transmission. There are many solenoids finding the bad one is the problem it could be The tcm ( trans. control module) but usually there are other codes.Not all OBD scanners pick up the codes.

How long ago did you change trans fluid? If you cant recall or wasn't recently...change it
