No CV Joints
FWD cars have four CV (constant velocity) joints connecting the engine to the front wheels. In comparison, RWD cars use universal joints which wear out much slower than CV joints.

^^ because they don't do any turning, so the boots last longer. The boot's life is synonymous with the joint's life. WHen you tear a boot, you need to fix it immediately, or the joint will get contaminated and wear out in short order.
