Not sure about real world scenarios, but read somewhere the 2006 model only,if it's the PD 2.0TFSI BPY engine, stay far from those as there are failures of the Mechanical High Pressure Fuel Pump, the Camshaft Fuel Pump Drive Lobe and the Intake Flap Motor/Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor Assembly..I suspect these faults may be as a result of america's piss poor fuel...not sure if this will impact our model as I haven't heard of any locally..hope this helps...I myself would like to get my hands on this engine,so at one point I was considering importing a VRS octavia...but this has 200hp instead of the meager 160hp from the passat

US market place fuel has very little to do with this.

In Europe, which vehicles sold in Trinidad are based on, the Turbo FSI 2.0 models are 200PS. "PD" Pumpe Düse tend to refer to Diesel models with the 140/170PS engine.

Yes at high mileages or poorly service vehicles you can have the HDR unit failing.

Swirl control flap, used to improve mixture distribution, can get clogged with coke as there is no injection in the port to break it up.

I maintain my vehicles religously and use my own maybe 3-4 times a week. Will this lack of use be a problem?
