WTK NTN OR SKF BEARINGS???

Postby bluespeed » October 10th, 2011, 8:38 pm

I am doing a project and the bearings I'm replacing are in some hard to get locations, so maintenance is going to be a mofo!,...so I wanted to know how good are the NTN bearings compared to the SKF ones?.... I know the cost factor between the two will have a vast difference...

let me hear your views...thanks...

Well, some manufacturers use NTN bearings and seals in their engines and OEM replacement parts, so that should give you an idea of the quality. It depends on how much load you gonna exert on them really...and how well you install them (as in, without tapping/forcing etc.).
Dunno how convincing this is, but I have two NTN replacement bearings on two tensioner pulleys climbing past 8000rpm several times daily for 4mths now that are still as quiet as the day I installed them.

NTN and SKF are both used on various cars as OEM....so i think NTN should do the job

It depends on the project!!! both are really good quality bearings, you need to look at application.

It is usually difficult to get gear bios bearings in Tnt as the market is very small. You could try Chaguanas Auto, they may be able to assist as they go transmissions.
