camera install problem

Postby jasp » July 28th, 2011, 10:00 am

i want to install a rear view camera in my car.

i already have the camera, and my p5200bt deck is compatable.

However i would like to know if it can be installed without connecting the camera's power to the reverse lights. i don't want to use the camera to reverse, but to see what's behind (sometimes). if i connect it to a normal power source, will the camera burn out from being on all the time?

You can run a relay off the remote out from the HU then the camera to the relay. Then you can use that to turn the camera on. When you turn the HU off, the camera will be off.
