FC3S hard starting need help

Postby akien21 » April 28th, 2011, 5:38 pm

I have a 2nd gen rx7 series5 what works fine but recently I've noticed that everytime I start the car when the engines cold it doesn't fire up!
Once it starts the engine chokes so I have to slightly rev it for about 10secs or so then it idles fine. Once it has started it starts fine afterwards.
This only started to happen after I sent it by an electrician to check out the electricals!!!!!
Any advice would be appreciated.

i would think the waterthermo sensor is disconnected. It's on the BACK of the water pump housing. If the water thermo sensor is disconnected, what happens is the ECU defaults to 176* F for a coolant temp, and that results in the amount of fuel injected during the STARTING PROCEDURE, to be very little vs what it should be. Lower temp....more fuel. Higher temp....less fuel during STARTING. Starting being just that. The initial start. After 500rpm has been reached, then the ECU uses the AFM for fuel delivery. U may also want to clean ur injectors while u at it....hope u get through...
