Kmph to Mph Evo 7speedo conversions help.

Postby ecktt » June 6th, 2009, 9:34 pm

I'm looking for product suggestions that will allow an Evolution 7 speedo to read in miles instead of Km/h, so as to increase the upper limit of the speedo to 180 Mph.

err. Back to the topic.
My speedo goes up to 180Km/h which most EVOs can do in the blink of an eye. That RallyArt Dash cost well over 600usd. Was looking for a cheap solution. I emailed some company call SpeedM8 but have been getting spam ever since with no reply about their converter so i guess that was bogus.

just an update.

got a kbtv inline speedo converter that does exactly what i wanted. Took 5 mins or less to install. The biggest problem was to find out where the speed sensor was. The RPM lines up exactly at what speed it should be at so i guess its accurate. Took my relatively stock evo 7 up to 150mph at which point I chicken out and backed off the X. I think my car could have pushed 10-15 mph more.

As for the evo it can be done but dunno. Mine was converted from KM to miles but dunno who or where... Doubt speedm8 is bogus but they seem to have it

SpeedM8 might not be bogus but all request for information from them was never answered and ever since then my e-mail address was flooded with spam. Coincidence? I think not.

kbtv.co.uk

its cheaper and does the same thing. I wouldn't doubt that SpeedM8 just re-branded the kbtv and charged more.
