rotor disc cutting

if your rotor is warped, bent a bit, is it recommended you machine cut it or replace it. mines are bent a bit, but toyota wouldnt cut it. they claim a bent rotor could be cut but it would become warped again. they only machine rotors that have a poor surface. although mines are bent, if i cut them they would remain in tolerence. whats the best choice? i dont wanna mess with the brakes too much

Agreed....If they weren't machined before you can get them machined 1st...it'll cost a whole less. However if they're already machined, I'd be a bit more careful.

BTW... how did your rotors get bent?

remember bent rotors will cause the vehicle to shim when braking. and they will heat unevenly, so your net braking power will be unpredictable

If it is bent badly, change the rotors...

dunno how they got bent. they were changed 100,000kms ago under warranty by toyota for the same problem. now they are bent again. didnt even wash or go through water while they were hot

If the rotor is warped/bent i dont think you should machine them on a rotor cutting machine it should be done on a lathe.
