hey tuners. my brother has a problem finding a way to modify his bone stock c35 club s with an rb20de and auto tranny. the only thing he did was an exhaust upgrade. he really wants more power but can't afford the turbo engines. i looked up this engine and it comes at 140hp. I believe if that could change to around 165-170hp without turbine that would make his year since he already believes he has a beast. oh yeah he presenlty has intentions of converting to manual so any experience post would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tell him sell it because he bought the wrong car if he has intentions of modding for cheap.

That was harsh...but he's right. I have a U14 SSS and I have to rev the nuts of it, give old people on the side walk a heart attack and set off a dozen alarms to go half as quickly as a B13/B14 with the same engine. If you're going small displacement N/A, weight is your biggest enemy. Your second enemy is cost N/A mods arent cheap and are definitely not bang for your buck either.

Tell your friend save up, the money he spends in N/A mods to get 20hp would have him 3/4 way towards a Turbo engine and to having almost 80hp more with alot of potential for improvement.

Trust me that money he invests in small N/A mods could have gone towards an RB20DET which is quite affordable these days.
