some people say the less is better something to do with crossover introducing distrotion and thing?

honestly i prefer 2 way...
3 ways tend to be much sharper and abrasive with high mid frequencies IMHO

i also prefer 2way for coaxils,but that JBL tends to loud and clear with very little distortiion :D i use this for most 6x9 application :D

and the price not too bad ssc what prices do these normally retail for saw a set for $400

Generally 3-ways tend to be harsh and you need some equalization to tame them. However they can be better at reproducing details.

Depends a lot on speaker quality and crossover design tho'...8-)

yes and this harshness tends to bloom with amplification

most cheaper model speakers use generic caps to build the crossover networks, that's why you'll basically see the more expensive high end brands giving you a more detailed sound with a smoother frequency response...

but the cost of that would be the prohibitive factor, since the same thing can be obtained for cheaper, in a higher end speaker
