I did not know .I was now looking at the site but i would like to think that the mtx squares would be louder than the l7's by the amoud to power the site say it take-in(just my opinion)

US Patents have Life Spans of upwards of 14yrs, The square solos haven't been out that long,

Kicker probably Patented other aspects of the Woofer,Special suspension design, Motor Cooling, Coil design, Its quick Change Recone of the SoloX. Which other Brands aren't using.

But they can't copy the Shape.

I believe Hifonics has a Square sub also.
