I find it fair. As we have lots of ppl that rely on poor public transport that is extremely susceptible to flood/weather.

Oh the irony!

Soon we will have The Amazing Rapid Rail and be a Sophisticated Country.

Due to people "getting stranded" in the flooding...in the middle of a city...

If I ever go up for elections I will distribute blood red nail polish with catty feminist slogans printed on the bottles. Thanks to the dear Raziah Ahmed, who has apparently won the election already.

Who knows. I have only taken a bus once in my life so I have doubts about their usefulness to me personally. Let's not talk about buses. Any country can buy buses. Let's talk about trains. Trains are more exciting.

I've been to many countries and I can tell you thatthe only places that have/ need rapid rails are busy cities. Beijing, NYC, Boston, Chicago etc.

For example Houston has a limited inter city rail system that only really alleviates traffic during big game days around the stadiums and it runs though the Hospital zone.

A well planned bus system will work for us.

Our problem is that we are to posh to sit on a PTSC bus.

The problem is that the bus system is just like us as a people. Lazy, tardy and unreliable.

I say leave RR as the final option after examining, implementing and assessing the plethora of smaller faster more flexible fixes.

Janfar. They don't have the vehicle per person ratio in such a densely populated area with such small roads and lack of room to expand and develop.

While I'm not a major fan of the RR now, especially with recession coming. I think if we buy recycled and refurbished trains and use innovative low environment impact tracks and facilities it can be done well and hopefully at a palatable price.

Yes we need efficient CNG buses, of different variant but interchangeable parts, all staffed by well paid drivers...

to run on our congested roads.

And since we cant run PTSC and thereby can't run a rail system (something we did for about 100 years), let's never further extend ourselves and run something complicated like an airline. Because as you know, we are all just a bag of hammers unable to operate other multimillion dollar transport equipment like high speed ferries and water taxis.
