So I just received my first atomic g shock. Set the home city to Halifax without auto DST because the manual said Santiago which is what I normally use is not supported by auto calibration. Tried to manually receive the time but did not get thru. Advice?

Humm...i have my citizen AT8020-54l is set to santiago time zone and it syncs up at 2am like clock work...pun intended lol.

I don't do anything special. You could try putting it next to a window. Change the time zone see if that helps. When you try a manual sync try it between 12 and 4 in the morning..thats when the signal is strongest in our location.

Picked this one up on Sale from £299 to £230.
Royal Marines commando watch.
A titanium sealed one piece case ( does not have a screw on back)
Kevlar strap
Eco Drive- never needs a batt.
300m water resistant ( i yet to go 5m under water) .
Really good quality watch.

Looks good, but don't think I would wear it much , Maybe once in while.

Picked up this Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Nighthawk about a month and a half back, really liking it as my new daily no battery (eco drive). It's the right balance for me, plus it takes a beating.

Looks really good bro. Prefer to original nighthawk though. My watch synced the other night. It seems to be hit and miss some nights. My next purchase would most likely be a nighthawk or splurge and get the omega seamaster.

Go for Omega Seamaster, its a bit costly but worth every dollar.
Good thing about Omegas is that they hold their value. If you broke or short of cash abroad its an easy sell and you will get nearly what you paid for it. Its cash on ur wrist

If you abroad then yes.
The agv Trini is not watch savvy and would not notice a high end watch.
Good thing about the Omega seamaster is that its look like a normal street watch, trinis to dumb to spot a class watch they believe everythink is Seiko or Citizen. I wear my Breitling offten
and only a very few ppl would notice it. I still prefer to beat out my Seiko 5 most of times.

zoom,
are you in the UK now?
Im looking for a euro or japanese nighthawk like i pictured above. Have you seen any? It has a nicer case back, titanium with stronger coating, sapphire crystal (i think) and is radio controlled unlike the US version.

Im not seeing how to do the all clear in the pdf instructions I down loaded

How do I do it-I have the case opened -there is a hole labeled AC-it does not depress like a button...

Use a metal tweezer and touch the back of the battery with the contact inside the AC hole for a second or two.

You don't ever buy, New Rolex, Breitling and top end watches online.
There's a process to register the watch with your presence needed.
Besides you gonna trust buying a $8000 US plus watch online?
The watch isn't new.Its a used vintage rolex with the certificate of authenticity.

Post up some high quality macro photos of the cyclops (if there is one). That's the number one thing fakers get wrong, the magnification is supposed to be 2x on a real Rolex.

Try ebay.com or http://www.seiyajapan.com
My nighthawk hour wheel is damaged now :( stupidly changed the date while the hour hand was between 11PM and 2AM.

You could give the Citizen Attesa a try.

I bought this watch and cant find a place that can open it to change the battery. I tried the watch place in Chaguanas (downstairs Jubilee Cinema) and the jewelry store/watch place in Trincity Mall.

Where could I go to get it repaired?

There are 2 places in POS that I have used: Stephen's Watch Repair Center (http://tntyp.com/Trinidad/Stephens-Watch-Repair-Centre/profile), and one of those mall jeweler's places along Frederick St. (along the right hand side while facing north) that I can't remember right now. The man in there is also a trained horologist with certificates. A BA degree is offered in horology at some universities, which should tell you about the level of technical expertise required with these watches.

You might mean Jamal's Jewelry in Town Centre Mall, had my Movado battery changed there last year.

You may find them distasteful but to others it's to their liking and within their pocket

I am sure you can't spot a high end watch from a fake, you would not know a real silver watch from tin.

Watches are like cars, it all depends on what the user likes. Some like B15 and some go for Aston Martins
