Breaking News!!!

Government chooses Christine Kangaloo to become the next President but the Opposition has objected to her nomination.

Since the Government has the majority in the House, the Opposition's objection is just cosmetic as Kangaloo will becomes the next President of the Republic of T&T when the Electoral College sits.

Solar Park makes progress at Piarco International Airport

"The Ministry said the solar farm, which is managed by the Airports Authority, will consist of ground-mounted solar panels installed over an area of 1.54 hectares with an annual generation capacity of 1,443,830 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which represents 7.1 per cent of the total amount of electricity consumed at the Piarco International Airport.

The Ministry said this project could potentially reduce annual emissions of carbon dioxide by 1,010 metric tonnes, and contribute to an overall reduction in Trinidad and Tobago’s carbon footprint."

Guys guys guys none of that matters. All your concerns are misogyny just because it's a woman. Trinituner teaches us these things. It's just a figurehead who has no power who can't do anything. Why all the hate for women guys?

that appointment not right, but nothing about the appointment is against the rules of the constitution... if Kamla had a problem with it, she should have done something about constitutional reform during her term. Alongside enacting the term limits she promised on the campaign trail. Kamla just wanted to be Maximum leader, just like Keith doing now, and do so ent like so.

If he did put a qualified african woman, many base unc would want to know "where dat black woman come out from!?" and "he only fixing he own"

You think Rowley choose Kangaloo just because she's supposedly qualified and in the pnm family? He knows that it would be difficult for the opposition base to pull the race card.

does kams or rowdy have d power to do anything on their own ? , cant remember everything but iirc ent in order to change d constitution u need 3\4 or something so majority ? - correct me if i wrong

.75 x 41 = 30.75 , closest we got since d 33-3 in 1986 was 29-12 in 2015

... so how can we just up & change anything in d constitution jesso ?

i far from being an expert but some ppl who knows d constitution inside\out will find a way to "tweak" certain things how they feel fit sometimes with just a simple majority or 2\3 majority iirc but for certain big issues u need a high percentage majority ...

Exactly same reason why we stuck on the privy council, that two thirds majority will never happen

at least bring it to a vote. at least set up a committee. but nothing at all was done when the PP got their 29-12 majority. all the old talk about new politics and changing the way governance was done, all fall down before maximum leadership.

term limits was a campaign promise. never even brought up for discussion and Kamla now on General Election #4.
