To be honest I would prefer to pay for the premium fuel as I am against the fuel subsidy. Trini's need to start realizing the real world cost of things and get out of the bubble cause its hurting us in the long run. But that's just me cause I can afford it. In addition to new and cleaner tech that's why I wished they would have brought the 1.5 skyactiv instead of the old 1.6. But kudos to them as the market will be happier with a super running engine that has around the same power even tho its less efficient.

Heard the 2014 corolla and the yaris have problems with the accelerator getting stuck. Does that happen to the local models? Any recalls?

Does anyone know if the Porsche Macan has made it to our shores yet. If they are here, what's the prices? Looks good.

1.6 skyactiv? What you really mean is the 1.6 partially skyactiv.

I'm sorry, the engine is the heart of a car if it's not skyactiv then that is not a skyactiv model in my opinion. I actually checked it out on Saturday and from the time you open the hood it's immediately apparent that the engine is not for that car. They didn't even bother to put a cover on it.
Which is really unfortunate because otherwise it's an excellent car, the infotainment system is the best I've ever used (once you get used to it).

My bitchin aside, it is still extremely good value for 209k considering it's main rivals of the elantra cerato and corolla are about the same price. It's surely better looking than those.

Just thinking out loud............. this can't continue, Mazda simply isn't a big enough company to continue making the old 1.6 alongside it's new skyactivs. My guess is they managed to find a way to pass off the remaining batches of the old stuff to markets like Trinidad who aren't quite ready to make the jump, but eventually we will get the skyactiv down here

They had both in the showroom while I was there, identical specs.

That Mazda3 is ugly. Equipment list for $209,000 is not very impressive either. Not worth it at all.

just a thought, mazda says the car is not only lighter but has better handling and is stronger than the outgoing model. With that said, I guess the dated 1.6 would fear better after all..

2700lbs moved by 100hp, ignore the hills, your air condition and other human persons wanting to sit in your new Mazda3.

Let the excitement begin.

InOne is too costly. Best you take the loans from other banks. Because Ansa is private, their interest rates are a lot higher. I compared installments for a 3 series and the difference was about $700 extra a month (republic). Their insurance is not too bad.

is the in one package for the 3 series the same as the other cars (focus lancer civic etc) as in maintenance and insurance for 3 years?

Insurance yes, maintenance no. But it still costs way to much. You can easily save $5000 to $6000 a year taking your loan elsewhere

I have a Lancer on the Inone and my experience is that the Inone was cheaper than going to the bank though. True the Inone monthly payment higher than a bank loan but when one considers the Insurance and Maintenance, the Interest charges actually come out close to the banks.

I actually went to the bank and got a loan payment schedule for the Loan value and also got a quote from my then existing car insurance company. The Inone was better.

This was 3 years ago so not sure what has changed.

The inone monthly payment is a set figure right? Your insurance payments decrease yearly though so maybe inone may seem better first couple years but after that you'd be paying too much

I looked at a 3 series and installments from Ansa and then from Republic. This was without InOne and it was about $700 difference a month in installments looking at 5 years to pay back. With the InOne the installment went up by $1500 a month, this was insurance. You don't get maintenance with the 3 series included in the InOne. It came out higher, the agent told me because they are private, there rates are always higher than the bank. With that i said goodbye to InOne. TATIL insurance quote was excellent though, so I took my insurance with them but took my loan with Republic

And metalgear is right, the value of the vehicle drops, and you still paying as though the vehicle is brand new. This is a lot of money you losing when you work out a vehicle for a 5-6 yrs loan. What they should do is depreciate the installment every year....but then again that is the financial sector for you. It cost me tons cheaper to take my loan from the bank and take the insurance from TATIL. Best of both worlds, but not when joined together.
