very nice, better to use an oil finish so you can easily redo it
varnish likely to fade and flake and be troublesome to redo.

how you did the joints ? tenons ?

Whats you guys' thoughts?

Purchased the 8" version last December. I must say I am astonished at its performance. Got it on special for $900 at a hardware in St Helena. So far i have chopped up the following for a couple projects.

20 lengths - 1x4x14 DTPP
24 lenghs - 1x4x12 Green Heart
6 lengths - 2x2x10 RTPP
4 lengths - 2x4x10 DTPP
2 lengths - 1x3x12 DTPP
Some 2" PVC Sch 40

It never missed a beat. The power delivery is very good. The precision is good. I have no regrets. I was previously a brand name tool man (Dewalt, Bosch etc). This is my first Chinese tool from Total and I am blown away.

Just one of the projects.... still to varnish

With the more solid wood, did the motor strain or was it powerful enough to go through? Cutting normal 2x4 and 1" soft wood eat, but it's when you hadda use it for projects with harder wood.

I want to get one, when I first saw it and saw the price, I say I hadda get that. I bought a Pricesmart portable table saw, and that work great for me, could see where it not that great quality build, but I made real shelves with it and no issues, so even if you buy a cheap tool, buy a good blade, and you could barely tell the difference

yes it does look good, neat

i cud be wrong but it seems to be basic butt joints & lap joints joinery possibly some pocket holes too , attached with either screws or nails whose holes have been filled & sanded ...

The 10" version iirc is about $1400.00

The one I have cut the greenheart with no trouble whatsoever. I was surprised since the drill bits giving trouble to go through that hard wood.

The joints I used was basic butt joints. Nothing fancy, but it came out strong and looked good also. The sink station is for outside bbq etc etc...

Have to teach myself to do the pocket holes with the Kreg jig...

You using regular steel bits to drill or the ones with the pointed tip or the one with the slot (can't remember the proper names)

I had to practice with the pocket hole jig, if you using thick wood it won't be a big issue, but I used it on ⅝" MDF, so had to test for distance from the end, and then depth of the bit to make sure it has enough shoulder to hold on and the screw doesn't come out the side of the other wood.

With 1" wood and above, it's easy

Using regular steel bits - Irwin and Dewalt. The Greenheart is a strange wood, builds heat very quickly. When you drill a hole you get a mini explosion when you remove the bit... a small pop with some smoke..

Greenheart splinters real easy and with small splinters too
It has an irritant chemical in it which makes The smallest splinter hurt

Yeah wonder... leave it to dry. it removes the rust, etches the metal and forms a protective layer. You can also just paint on the dried surface after a cleaning with a hard brush.

What type of surface, like fencing? Or is it very minor like little spots?

Wonder is good but you hadda be careful how you handling that chemical, if it's very minor, you know the iron remover (like Maguire's ultimate wheel cleaner) that works to clean minor rust

Ok
So the long diagonal bar in my door is showing some surface rust... wanna tackle it early.
But remember, space there is limited to work.
So i dont mind applying the wonder with a sponge/cloth.
But i definitely wont be able to sand and paint in there

Morning guys.

Any recommendations for where I can get a decent effluent pump to use in a septic and soakaway system redo?

What places can I check and are there any brands that I should consider or avoid?

I also posted in the house building thread to provoke some more ideas or conversations as appropriate.

For the guys that interested in the pumps...

Watertech
L&S
Engage
QUALITECH

those are the bigger suppliers with the better brands...ebara, Sparta, hydromatic etc

If you look good at bhagwansings you might find one or two. Maybe Peake also has a goulds I saw once.

If you want a good non brand name pump call Ragbar Plumbing...PM me if you can't find a contact for them. Rocky's in curepe may also have something you can use.
