as Ryan say, a sharp knife is the most important tool. Everybody has their own technique but with catfish i usually cut off the head (u don't have to) then slab off the 2 sides, lay them skin side down and then run the knife between the skin and the meat.
Made a tide today down d islands, things were tough but we still caught a portion of redfish. Moved around plenty, Gasparee, Monos, First Bocas, Scotland, Teteron. D fish were biting real fickle, every one we caught was barely hooked in the lip, none were actually swallowing the bait like they usaully do. Maybe it was the moon phase...dunno for sure.
the braid broke or a knot? Braid is less forgiving than mono in both, no give at all. I dont use swivels to join braid for that reason, straight knots and the swivels can be used to join mono to leader.
