Race is old card.
Ppl voting race from long time and they will not change no matter what so those votes fixed
They unlikely to gain or lose any votes promoting race, if anything they will lose potential voters who would abstain which usually means a plus for pnm

They fail to realize that many independent voters will be so turned off they might vote for any other alternative.

Why don't they develop wifi systems instead. Many people have devices that can access the networks , just its costly to access the networks .
And whomsoever needs a device should apply through their schools, and the GIS would facilitate.

But interwebz access at schools whould be good enough . A better course would be free text books... Unless they provide e-text books

Maybe they know what needs to be done to fix the economy will get them universally hated and by just going with the flow they may get enough seats in opposition to stop any drastic constitutional changes. So they gonna let the PNM come in, bring back property tax, do the public service reform they were going to and remove the fuel subsidy. They not making that NAR mistake again.

I honestly agree with you, after 5 deficit budgets, an incomplete Point Fortin Highway funded from the cash flow and increased welfare and laptops, which ever subsequent gov't will have a very hard country to run.

Do stop giving false and mis-leading PNM spin on Pt Fortin highway being incomplete.

Construction of Pt Fortin hospital begins March 2012
By —Ria Taitt

Story Updated: Nov 27, 2011 at 2:07 AM ECT

Construction of the Point Fortin Hospital will begin in March 2012, Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan said Friday.

He was answering a question in the House of Representatives filed by Point Fortin MP Paula Gopee-Scoon.

He said there was an urgent need for this hospital because the San Fernando Hospital was overburdened. "It is unfortunate that the PNM Government did not see it fit to build the hospital in their eight years in office," he noted.

He said the estimated time for completion was 36 months—March 2015. In response to a question from Gopee-Scoon who asked whether the Government was still looking at the site earmarked for the Etech Park, Khan said Government may be looking at the same site, which was earmarked by the PNM Government for the hospital.

March 2015 is also the date given by Works Minister Jack Warner yesterday for the completion of the Point Fortin Highway, in response to another question from Gopee-Scoon.

Warner said the contract was awarded on July 4, 2011 and the completion date was March 27, 2015. He said 148 persons had been hired on the project to date. He said the Ministry of Finance had provided $1.5 billion from Treasury deposits in order to begin work on the project, pending NIDCO raising the sum required to complete the project. He said such fund would be subject to supervision by the Ministry of Finance. The sums would be raised as follows: $1.9 billion in the first year; $1.4 billion in the second year; $1.2 billion in the third year; $2.4 billion in the third year; $1.5 billion in the four-year making a total of $7.2 billion.

Gopee-Scoon told the Sunday Express that she was doubtful that the Point Fortin hospital would begin in March 2012.

"As it is there is no site and it has to start from scratch. That means new designs would have to be done," she said.

4km of 47km highway has been delivered already (without the interchanges at Golconda and Debe). 43km is a tall order in 18mths.

BTW Kamla is now saying Point Fortin hospital will begin in June 2014 http://www.trinidadexpress.com/news/PM- ... 16221.html

All hope not lost for unc unno. As it stands i think its more in their favour to win the ge. Thats the reason for their nonchalant attitude to whats happening in the country.

Can she show financial returns since she became PM for the post 24/5/2010 income that she generates which allows for these?

Since she got in with an empty treasury surely she'd have had to generate some investment allowing this. Not just promises from places she visited.

Shouldn't be too hard to show it in black and white right and verified by PWC
