This is true. Only 20% of my wife's students have actually turned in assignments and are actively participating in the online sessions.
Is either they don't care, lost hope or don't see it as a viable alternative to in person classes.

that is the reality of distance learning, it’s most successful with persons/kids who have a drive to learn.

Young kids less likely to have that and may need a physical presence of a teacher.

Parents think teachers are babysitting. They are not.
