Father and two children murdered Mother critical Drug addict shot dead by cops while stabbing third child

A FARMER and two of his children were stabbed to death at their home at Ackbar Trace, South Oropouche, on Thursday night by a man who was shot and killed by police while he was in the act of stabbing a third child.
Dead are Berricou “Bull” Subhan, 46; his daughter, Sherifa, 14; and five-year-old son, Musa.
Subhan’s wife, Rasheeda Alladin, 33, who was stabbed multiple times in her neck, is listed in critical condition at hospital.
The couple’s nine-year-old daughter, Laylaa, was cut several times on the chest.
The only person to escape injury was seven-year-old Saleen.
The killer has been identified as Silvan Alladin, a 38-year-old drug addict with a criminal history.
He was the cousin of Rasheeda Alladin, and was raised by Subhan’s mother, said Subhan’s brother, Bobby Subhan.
The motive for the multiple murders is unknown to police and relatives.
“This is the month for fasting and forgiveness for Muslims and I think he chose to make a sacrifice. Maybe in his heart he knew he was astray, and he gave up himself and his family as a sacrifice. The Almighty alone know,” said Bobby Subhan.
Berricou Subhan was a cattle farmer who supplied milk to Nestle Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. His wife is a scrap iron dealer who bought scrap metal from Petrotrin.
Sherifa Subhan was a Second Form pupil of Darul Uloom Girls’ College in Chaguanas. The family are devout Muslims but were not observing the Ramadan fast this year, relatives said.
Little Musa would have entered the Avocat Vedic Primary School in Fyzabad in September.
Laylaa and Saleen attend a private Muslim school in Fyzabad.
The couple had been together for some 20 years.
Around 9 p.m. on Thursday, the couple returned from a visit to Barrackpore.
It was then that Silvan Alladin ambushed them.
Berricou Subhan was sitting in a hammock in the garage, when Silvan Alladin came up behind him and slit his throat, the Express was told.
Rasheeda Alladin was making sandwiches, when the killer entered the house and flung her across the room. He then stabbed her numerous times, while the four children ran into their parents’ bedroom to hide.
Silvan Alladin chased after the children, and their mother ran to a neighbour’s house for help.
As the killer tried to enter the bedroom, Sherifa Subhan fought to push the door shut, while she tried to call for help on her cellphone.
Silvan Alladin overpowered her and stabbed her in back. She fell on the bed.
The girl begged him to leave them alone, and died saying prayers, the Express was told.
Sherifa was stabbed several times in the head.
The man then went into a bathroom where little Musa, who had fled from the bedroom, was hiding and stabbed him to death.
Silvan Alladin then paused to drink a poisonous substance from a bottle.
It was then, the Express was told, that Laylaa kicked the knife he had used to kill her siblings under a bed. The man, however, found a knife in the kitchen.
By then, the police had been called and arrived within about ten minutes, surrounding the premises.
Two police officers—Cpl Bahadoor and PC Smith—broke down the door and found the two surviving children sitting on the man’s lap.
Their faces were bound with duct tape and their hands bound with tie straps.
Silvan Alladin cut Laylaa several times on her chest while the policemen were entering the house.
Laylaa and Saleen ran, and police shot the killer in the head.
The children ran into the arms of police and relatives, who were waiting outside the house.
Neighbour Ramesh Mayrhoo said he called the police, paramedics and the woman’s relatives.
“I heard a faint scream and I looked out and saw Rasheeda. She was covered in blood and had a gaping wound on her neck. She said her cousin had stabbed her. She said he kill her husband, and she begged me to save her children”, said Mayrhoo.
“We got towels and started to com press the wound because she was bleeding profusely,” the neighbour said.
Relatives credited the police officers with saving the lives of the two surviving children.
Corporal Siew is investigating.

Try reading and understanding what someone is saying before you go off on a tangent.
