SUMMIT FTW> Leh we showcase d country nah! What yuh talking 'bout....we hah plenty money to spend. This is important for the betterment of the WORLD!

some people just too 'proud' to listen to them.

NO! We won't be affected. Didn't you hear our goodly gov't when the crash was taking place in the US?

Why diversify.........oil and gas FTW.

NOT HELD THEIR TOUNGUES!

Like when Nic. Pr. Ortega spoke of freedom of expression, and him expressing his dismay at having to wait three hours in the airport or something like that.

Big country > Small country

And in our case, ALL > foolish small country that thinks one summit ain't enough.

I think its more a question of organising and restructuring what we have, because we have rel stuff here. . .do you know that in many cases patients at Westshore and many other private upitty health care establishments in some cases have to be transferred to POSGH depending on their condition due to the advanced equipment available at the hospital and not at the private one. .and actually my son is doing an associated course at UTT and not being sarcastic,I'm liming morethan ever. . .ask anyone who knows me. .the main problem in this country is management not lack of resources. . .

i wont say UTT,or secondary schools
we talking Government primary schools...u'd be amazed if u recently went into one u'd be amazed on the conditions they endure

organisation and restruucturing..yeah but i guess while thats a political thing,

i just wanna talk about the benefits of the summit

due to the restructure in the budget recently, do u know most ministries were mandated to cutback on expenses-meaning, projects, funding, grants, support etc
that normally would help the "poor" ppl or communities

yet alot of $$ was spent for the summit that would be surely beneficial to the average person.

i recently went to mt hope to carry a friend who got and injury and there wasnt a wheelchair for the guy to sit in and had to wait approx 4hrs for a bed
and was told "he lucky to get one so fast"

i would just love for someone to explain or tell me the direct and indirect benefits of the summit for the average person

some may say investments...
now the way i see it, there isnt any NEW country coming into here that doesnt know what we already have or manufacture...

I understand what you're saying but you do realize that wheelchair and bed thing is a classic example of my point about management etc. .as far as I've seen no government health care system in the world is properly organised. .I aint condoning their ineffiency but I'm just saying that summit or not, these problems have always been around and would always be without good management. . .but I get your point. .going to get ready to go lime later !!!

it was'nt a problem before the sudden global financial meltdown panic! announcement. .they reached too far to turn back, you know if they had decided too call it off many here wldve considered it an embarrassment. .

we would be embarrassed for not purchasing a $40M TV?

for $250M to refurbish a defunct airport?

for a $50M hanger to accommodate a plane for 1 day?

All this while cutting expenditure in health by over 40%, and some ministries by up to 90%.

And yet they not going to address criminal deportees to Trinidad which is the major cause of crime increase in TT and the Caribbean?

They could have still hosted the summit without a set of wastage.

The summit is a waste!
Those who feel proud, bamcie not clapping like the rest of the country with job uncertainty.
I agree that the country lacks proper management! Proper management would not have hosted the summit in the first place.
I never see so much cleaning up, road paving, law enforcement in my entire life of 33 years as I've seen in the pass 3 weeks. Not even for an election. Was that a bad thing? NO. The fact that they did it to impress outsiders is. Painting an out house might fool a passer by but its still a shit-hole.
Anyone who support the hosting of this summit and wanna feel pround, supports hypocrisy.
