Mini - what we are saying is that we took the effort to provide the pics for TTRC for free. We ask for credits - it is the TTRC PR executive's responsibility to ensure that the credits go in - they ensure they got the photos didnt they and that the article and photos made it to the paper in time to get into the Arena supplement. How come the ONE thing that seems to repeatedly get left out is our credits? Is not the first time.

^^^ I don't think the blame is being placed squarely at TTRC.

A digital placard to fight bigotry in the mainstream media is what this thread really is. If people do not start requesting and explaining particulars to the editors of the newspapers then we cannot resonably expect any results. TTRC and other groups must all act to ensure the due credit is given.

If you lent someone your perfectly good boost controller or GTech Pro and they treated it badly, you would feel bad.

We can't blame Devi for being upset.

Everyone at TTRC works hard, but it is not fair to leverage that against international copyright unless your work at TTRC is patented.

That aside, it is up to everyone to lobby for what is fair, what is right etc. in order to effect change.

Spoke the Xpress Sports Editor today to stress that ttrc getting some adverse publicity as photos' credits are not being recognised ...pleaded with them to publish the names .. look out for it this weekend ..

What guarantee can TTRC can give me that this will not happen again. IF you can't guarantee this then compensate me!!!

Duane and Reezan of TTRC have both suggested pay the photo takeouters when this happens. What say you TTRC??????????

Learnt today that the Xpress thinks they will be 'charged' for the photos if they place credits ... told them nah, they will b charged if they DON'T place the credits ...

This is because we were "giving chances" and not quite fed up. It almost turned into a big deal just before the international as well– because it happened to you in march and afterwards, we grew weary of this situation.

In this case they will not be charged. Also regardless of charge or no charge the condition of usage for our photography is to have credits. They give all of their photographers credits for anything they use. They are always careful to put "AP Photo" when they use their photos. The same applies to us. I find their logic silly

If however, they use the photos for anything other than publicity organised by TTRC for their supplements, then they could be charged a fee for using the photography. For example if they were doing their own story on rally in general, this could happen. They should contact the photographer in a case like this and explain what they want to do BEFORE using the photo.

Look out for the new and improved V2.0 site in the next few weeks.

Bottom of Page 30 of Friday's Guardian "Getting it Right" ...

I have been having discussions with the AGM Administration over the last few days about this issue and this morning, she has emailed an apology to me on behalf of the Trinidad Publishing Company Limited .. which I have just remitted to Narend, who I'm sure, will send to Devi in the first instance and then to this forum, in the second...

The Guardian has given the sport and TTRC, exposure this year (personally can't talk 'bout any other time) in the Arena, for which we are appreciative. Similarly, we also acknowledge and appreciate the Trinituner/Zorce Support ..

To date, we have good relationships with both media and I sincerely hope that they are not jeopardised ..all the relevant stakeholders are aware and I do not expect a recurrence ..nonetheless, as I told Narend, I will send a reminder with each news release to ensure that photos and article content, are properly accredited.

So Devi .. apologies again. I look forward to a continued amicable relationship with you fellas.

just another facet to the fight that all motorsports in T&T s engaged in to get just attention...........
..
u don't see this happening in the million photos for a**racing......and they eh begging for people to print 2 & 3 pages of the last stampede...........
in fact....when we have to beg & remind & plead for 4 0r 5 lines & a little 2 x 2 shot....a hundred 'official' photogs smell horse**** & get credited for the effort on 3 & 4 pages of all nwps the day after :!: :!:
..
and we all pushing more horsepower in any one event than 'all-ah-dem' in a whole year of fertilizer mulching :P :P
