long story short i need a good UPS for a smart Tv.

heard of the brand panamax. questions is who is the dealer and where sells it...and what model should i buy / is recommended...

what other brands should i consider if not panamax.

currenty using a small forza ups and it constantly tripping - it cutting off switching to back up power and switching back to regular mains supply.

it rel annoying with the forza as it cuts out in the most inopportune time.
how is that unit any different from say the APC 1500 UPS...??

And i use this one. All my gear is plugged into it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IL ... UTF8&psc=1

I think for just a tv, you can use one of the breakermatics (like the ones you use on a fridge). There are some designed for tvs. Check them out. Plus they are reasonably priced and will work for your needs.

We are the Authorized distributor for Panamax for Trinidad and Tobago.

If you are looking at a UPS from Panamax I would recommend that you take a look at the MB850 it has alot of great Technology in a compact size, and most importantly Automatic Voltage Regulation.

More info can be found in the link below:
http://www.panamax.com/Products/Battery ... b_features

The price of the MB850 is $2500.

If you are just looking for reliable surge protection that you can count on with voltage monitoring, protect or disconnect, and noise filtration you should look at the Panamax MD2. At $399

Please note that all Panamax products purchased for us come with a 1 year warranty.

^^^ was looking at the md2 for another application. I know this offers surge protection, but does it also offer over voltage and under voltage protection? The specs do not state this.

And just to confirm, does this have one or two outlets? Would you also recommend this for appliances such as freezers, fridges or washers?

Is it possible to connect a old traditional tv (big back) with AV connection (like in the picture) to an android box?

Image

Also is a 3 output AV cable compatible with a 2 input device like this tv? (I just asking because I guessing it needs a 3 input device)

My android box has an AV port and came with a cable to connect it to a normal TV with RCA input. Tried that cable out on another tv and box that I thought was stuck in AV mode and it didn't work. (HDMI cable wasn't put in properly on that box)

In a case like that you could just connect one audio input L/R instead of stereo..

Thank you Pete

The android box I bought doesn't have RCA.

Only those in the picture below.

I was hoping I could get something that can convert hdmi to RCA. Where sell that type of converter?

Sony especially was a culprit as the repair guy my dad took his tv by told him that the sonys from pricesmart all gave the same type of issues and didnt make sense to fix due to cost. Id look elsewhere for a new tv.

Have two Sony tvs from pricesmart. One is 8 years going strong. Kdl 40s4100. Had to change the remote batteries only once so far. Really nice looking set as well.
My newer Sony is 1.5 years. Sony is a great and reliable brand

Which Bose speakers they used on the Marantz?

Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on which 'average brand' speaker being used.
The Bose would probably sound better than most other mid range setups. Is it worth the price premium ? IMO Probably not. But if money isn't an object..

You're a Bose hater I'm guessing ?

Not a Bose fan myself. But I do believe these speakers were well suited for the actual room setup and receiver/processor.

I'll ask about the specific speakers and amp, Duane and let you know.

Check Specs again that amp is rated 500W x 8 MAX (relalistically about 120W per ch)
Speakers are rated 120W

Bose professional line is a whole different class from their domestic line. I have been wanting to know how well an array config would work in a HT. Can you describe the sound quality you experienced?

Yeah I know.. But, that's what the dealer and installer told me. I basically quoted what he said. I know the Amp is customizable so not sure if that is an explanation for the 8000 watts instead of 4000. I personally think the B2 module is way too small for what I heard too. He said he'd email me detailed specs though. So whenever I get it I'll recheck.
I'm not sure how exactly to explain the sound quality to you.. But it's much better than MT anywhere or Caribbean Cinemas (Atmos included).
I'd say it's better than IMAX as well; more depth and range .. Loud but not piercing at some frequencies as IMAX can be sometimes. But that's just m personal opinion.
I was honestly blown away that a 'home theatre' could sound that good.. But as you said, Bose Professional line is a whole different level.

Only thing I wasn't impressed with was the projector video quality. Would probably try to get some 4K / HDR / Dolby Vision content to show next weekend or so when I may pass through. Hopefully the projector supports it, next step is to find that out. It's one physically big mofo though.

I agree, IMAX is a big disappointment for audio. Too loud, no definition limited dynamic range and even distortion. Saw Batman vs Superman and it was horrible!

The BOSE speakers you auditioned have low end limitation at 125Hz. The specs does not cater for much midbass (60Hz-100Hz). would you be able to elaborate a little on how it performed in this frequency range?

Thanks

We are the Authorized Distributors for Integra which is Onkyo's Premium line of A/V products.

You can take a look at the DTR30.7 which is a comparable model, however if DTS:X is not something you wish to have now (but is available with future firmware update) then the DTR20.7 could also be a contender.

Nothing Much. Lol
Upgraded my projector to an BenQ HT1085ST and my Blu Ray player to a Sony BDPS6500 3D 4K Upscaling Blu-ray Player. Bought a couple of pairs of SainSonic GX-30 144Hz Rechargeable 3D Active Shutter Glasses and some CineGrey high contrast Projection fabric to do a new screen when i get some time.
