Non-highway driving, 25 to 35 mpg average about 30 mpg
All MPG quoted are US mpg
Anyone with figures from the japanese 1.5 to 2.0 L engines care to chime in?
Nicee. I hoping they bring the polo with a 1.2tsi in Nov. That would def be high on my list.
I get 14.4 km/l on my 1.6l SX4 which equates to 33.4 mpg. I drive pretty average, and with AC all the time. If I drive really conservative it goes up to about 16.7 km/l or 39.3 mpg.
My dad has a 1.8 (2ZR-FE) corolla axio, which gives an avg of 38 mpg with mixed driving.

TSTT shut down 6411?
drchaos wrote:I don't find CVT's that bad ... fuel econ on them is amazing. Yes you can get a whining drone but that's only if you accelerate really slowly and the transmission is constantly adjusting the gear so you dont get drop then rise in power. The newer ones can fall back to gear presets and feel like a normal transmission when you need the power.

Oh really?
Best of both worlds then.

Love that.

7 speed dsg vs 8-speed multitronic.
both cars are evenly matched until 110-115kmph where my a4 pulls ahead due to power and torque advantage. The Jetta is lighter and the DSG is more efficient in utilizing the available power. CVT's are not efficient as some manufacturer's claim them to be like Nissan but having Audi's version to the CVT makes a big difference over those Nissans. But then again, my car is not NA where the Nissans I drove are those HR15DE roro Tiida/Wingroad nonsense.
Moving along, the Jetta performs better than the non-refreshed A4's ie. 118kW / 250Nm motors with the 6-speed multitronic. Those TSI Jetta's have the same 118kW output and slightly less torque at 240Nm.
A 2012 Camry with a 2.5L DOHC 16V dual VVT-I would not stand a chance next to a Jetta and as a 1.6T Nissan Juke owner found out recently, despite getting better at shifting not even that frog could pass a Jetta.
Wait until you guys see the new Octavia. Those who singing the hater tune will soon be silenced.

I see what you mean there and I agree although my "right spec" and yours may differ lol.
You just practically get a VW at a lower price. Can't beat that
