No scn. From my readings the major cause of spun bearings are due to low lubrication cause by extended drain intervals and hard cornering. Using the improper body oil also.

Wrt to the oil dripping off the dipstick, I don't think it's something to worry about once u do the necessary checks to ensure that u don't have any underlying issue such as leaking injectors, bad afrs due to tune etc.

Regarding the 12mm pump for the 20x... I realized that the one that was taken off was replaced with the same. Just can't remember if it was a 12mm. At that time Gobin was pushing a sale of the "upgraded"oil pump.

Cars with Dual AVCS usually run the bigger oil pumps.

You shouldn't be concerned too much about a spun bearing. Focus more on making sure your car is in tune and maintained well.

To a large extent, the propensity for subaru's to spin rod bearings is linked to the extremely tight factory clearances that FHI runs on their motors. This makes them prone to damage in instances of Knock.

I also wouldn't worry too much about the color of the oil after usage. Engine oil has a cleaning purpose as well. Just use a good synthetic oil (no oil debate) and keep up with a reasonable change interval and you'll be fine.

Well when I bought the car I did the full 100k service and I polyurethane everything possible suspension wise.. I'm using good amzoil synthetic.. just looking to protect my investment.. especially as it's my daily..

Not planning to up hp much.. I just gonna decat and dump my plastic ended intercooler for all metal one.. and a retune just as a refresher for a 9 year old car..

Guy was selling me it for 85.. when I went to view the car I pointed out a fluid leak under the car so he gave me for 80 .. the only thing had to fix was a seal for the power steering and the radiator was cracked so I replaced with a mishimoto.. I was actually gonna buy an old ass Altezza.. at that price couldn't go wrong lol

This is the hatch...These were coming roro for 120k. So u gt.

Altezzas looks nice but can be considered cheaply built and overpriced.

Thats a real good price.

Was getting a wrx hatch for $120.00 but didn't pull the trigger on it because of availability of parts. The older models seem to have more stuff for it.

Maybe in a year or two I might buy one.

Well not only parts.
More online stuff for the diy guy.
Starting to have stuff for the later models now but most of what I found online was for the blob eye.

My Fozz have cruise control, to activate try this:

Press "Cruise" button, it should illuminate on the dash panel, accelerate to desired speed and then press "set coast" and it will hold the said speed. Once you press the acceleration pedal the cruise control will be de-activated.

I've tried many times but when I press cruise nothing happens.. not sure if something is wrong with the cruise control.. my car has no cel so it should engage..

My car has no cruise control fuse and the horn works so the steering wiring is working

Just a small update. Didnt get to install it yet but came up on a deal for a better setup that i just couldn't pass up. Supercharger project is on hold indefinitely, might put it in a ts or something or sell.

This is the new setup.

I should have it in and wired up in no more than 2weeks, but it might be a month or so before i have the free time. I guess it wont be an ej anymore at this point, so ill have to make a new thread.

ez30d, not ez30r or ez36r. The d is cable throttle and worlds easier to wire up.

On another note i did get some time to install some other goodies.

New forester steering wheel (must have radio controls)
Image

New legacy wheel
Image

Led fogs for leggy since i never had any
Image

1050x Injector Dynamics & top feed conversion rails
Image

Tomei Race Twin scroll headers vs stock legacy (modified for vf37)
Image

Already installed Grimmspeed TMIC and Aquamist.

Blouch 1.5 xtr twinscroll turbo and koyo radiator should be here in a few days, then its tuning time.

Gonna see what the 5eat can handle.

eBay for those. Lots of good deals on there you just have to look.

If buying one complete with airbag you will have to ship by sea, as the airbag is an explosive device. I didnt get any extra charges though.

Anybody ever changed turbo on the ej20x? Was wondering if the kinugawa turbos are bolt on or if the up and downpipes have to be modified..

Kinugawa twin scroll is sti style, which is different to legacy twins, so you would need new flanges at a minimum. Thats what i found when i removed my old manifold a few days ago. He used the legacy uppipe and just cut and weld on sti flanges.
