If is a timex i assume is either a plastic or mineral face. I have a few timex i does use cus dey is take good jammin in d bush and sea.
Anyway, to clean use toothpaste.
Dont wet the watch, use the toothpaste and rub it in with a cloth, den wash it off. Does work rel bess for me.
Or use polishing compound (car polish). I have a timex expedition going on 6 yrs now and the face still looks like new, once a month I does hit it a lil compound polish and is clean up nicely.

If it's mineral crystal (glass) then even a good watch polish like Polywatch will not work, this works on acrylic or plastic finishes. If you are scratching the face within a week chances are it's plastic so you will be ok, but most likely the rest of the watch is plastic too so make sure you polish only the crystal and not the body.
If it was mineral or sapphire, you would have to replace the crystal.

Don't use silicone, just get a new rubber seal for your watch and have it tested.
