i did the power door locks install myself in my L200.. bought the actuator kit @ sound & security experiance in valpark... for $500... and connected it to my Alarm system.. which was also DIY... for me everything came up to about $1200...
i'm not sure about the power windows though... i know the 4x4 turbo L200 came with power windows @ the front doors.. if u can source the motor assembly from that it shud work...

Could you add a turbo unit to a 2010 L200, 4x4, if so what is the average cost$.

yes the non-turbo engines can be turbo-ed

but a lot of work is involved in getting the injection-pump adjusted (additional parts required) and fitting the turbo to the exchaust manifold and running new oil lines for the turbo

the 2010 non-turbo KA4 model (2.5L) has a totally different engine (4D56 direct injection or Di) to the 2010 KB4 (2.5L) turbo (4D56 direct injection common rail or DiD) engine or the 2010 KB8 (3.2L) turbo (4m41 DiD) model

you would best be suited to dropping in a 2001-2005 K74 4D56 Di engine

gearbox on those engines are different to the new 2010 ones though

Team Loco did a N/A-turbo on his Hilux, he had some issues but determination paid off in sorting them through. he can guide you better

Guys, I am approaching 50000kms on the sportero and no issues at all.

Has anyone ever used shell coolant or prestone instead of the mitsu coolant?
Can anyone tell me what the 50000kms service involves other than the usual oil/filter change?

shell coolant is great stuff

used it in the previous L200

never had an issue

may use it in the current one when the time comes, or Mitsu long life

at 50,000km you don't have much to do

inspect brakes, change brake fluid if needed

transfer case and diff oils as well as tranny fluid should have been changed at 40,000km

so you should be good for major servicing until 80,000km

change oil and filters at the 50,000km

check the service manual

Ugh, $828 for the fuel filter at DM.
The Sakura 1001 wouldn't thread up properly, although DM said that it should fit.
Tried a black clubs variety, but it was too wide to fit in the bracket (fits in the Triton not the L200).

Is there anywhere in Trinidad (M.Rampersad/ROC etc) that sells the fuel filter cheaper?
Even if its the unbranded Denso version.

Well to update on the steinbauer, I detuned it 10% on the potentiometer but haven't dynoed. Still getting the same pull but the transmission shifts better than with the OEM potentiometer setting, and a helluva lot less smoke. Puff of smoke only in 1st when at WOT, after that no noticeable smoke.

Haven't thrown any codes yet, and I don't have an EGT monitor to tell if there are any issues but I barely put my foot down anyway.

hey, did anyone notice the new sportero's in the diamond motors branch in chaguanas, lange park?
It has the longer tray with a lip on top of the tail gate, was wondering the price of this and if this comes with the higher powered 2.5L engine. Hoping I get chance this week to check it out.

ok guys i am coming up on 100,000Km and i gotta do the service........where is a good place to go except the firm?

i am guessing a 100,000 km service where all the belts would be needed too. if anyone knows where the parts can be found at a good price plz post.

and can someone tell me the details of the service? (a list of everything that has to be changed)

0001 what engine:?:

if the 2.5 4D56 DiD

then you should:

timing belt and tensioner
Balance shaft belt and tensioner (if it has one)
camshaft and crankshaft seals
engine oil (depending on your last change date)
fuel filter (depending on your last change date)
coolant
power steering fluid
do an injector and egr service

if the 3.2L 4M41 DiD - I am still researching mine
top chain guide for certain
chain is a lifetime item or until tensioned distance drops to 9mm (which indicates that teh chain has stretched to its safe limit)
not sure about balance shaft

4M41 DiD L200 Sportero (and the occasional pajero owner that may pass through here)

our engines are sooo easy to maintain

100,000km service doesn't require any major work

the 4M41 DiD is a chain driven engine - so no timing belt to change :!: unlike a belt driven engine 4D56 (all variants)

there is a chain guide (top chain guide) that requires changing however, which is a relatively simple process.

this is a pic of the chain guide (courtesy 4ePikanini of the POCUK):

Image

I bought my chain guide (from Simpson Motors in Barbados) for US$14.00

Image

other than the chain guide, there is just EGR and injectors, which are optional at 100,000km depending on the condition and the last service to these components.

I posted on the L200 Owners Club (http://www.L200.org.uk), Pajero Owners Club of the UK (http://www.pocuk.com) and New Triton Club of Australia (http://www.newtriton.net) about this, since there are a lot of 4M41 owners there and they had the same to say.

My posts (you may have to be members there to access):

http://www.pocuk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=129061

http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopi ... =40&t=9846

I also went to DM and they said the same - they only recommend external engine belts and all fluids - pretty much a standard at this mileage. They do NOT change the top chain guide unless needed, evident by the chain making noise - tested by listening with the mechanics's ear.

some resources for the Top Chain Guide change:

http://www.pajeroclub.co.za/forum/viewt ... =55&t=1063

http://www.pocuk.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 15c49310e6

Video of the change:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMp1LbEyFio

my recommendation:

1. top chain guide
2. power steering fluid (a highly neglected fluid)
3. transmission fluid (only if NOT changed at 80,000km)
4. transfer case, front and rear diffs (only if NOT changed at 80,000km)
5. Coolant change
6. EGR and injectors, depending on condition and last service
7. Full inspection of suspension and 4wd vacuum lines
8. Brake fluid flush (if NOT already done in a recent service)
9. A/C refrigerant level
10. 2 x Alternator and A/C belts

will be doing my EGR, Injectors, brake fluid and power steering fluid in a couple weeks . . . stay tuned
