The design doesn't seem to offer any level of security for goods in the tray. The design is too open, I can't see a benefit for it other than bling.

for true - most of the carryboy products are really for ascetics. For functionality you may need to look elsewhere.

you might be able to get the manual 3.0 in BT50 - it is basically the same as the ranger - same engine, everything , and probably more features and cheaper

So .... My van is one year old as of last week ... Had the 25000K service done ... I need new mats.

I've got ZERO to complain about.

Honestly, sometimes I like to go into the "Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder." and read what goes wrong with their vans ... is that wrong?

i clean it regularly at 5000km and check it periodically for dust buildup - i do believe its a good investment - i think it made a huge difference in the ranger - how it performs and i had the k&N in the other ranger for 4 years now still workin good and power like that!...

hey guys, any info will help....i bought a 2006 Ranger, low mileage just over 40k and need to know 2 things...
The first when pulling off and first gear changes there is a big buck as it enters second gear is this normal? (automatic)
The second is the van has very low power, takes very long to go over 3000rpm and very long to reach 100km. It has the 2.5 turbo engine. Any thing to look for or change? It need service though as it has not been running to often....thanks....

First thing first - get that servicing done. Oil change, filter change, air filter, etc.

Not so knowledgeable about the auto-trans, but you might have to bring it into the firm to have it checked out. Might be the computer. AFAIK, it's supposed to be a smooth transition from 1>2nd, unless you're driving and pulling off hard all the time.

that issue sound strange- the second ranger i have - doing 109km -its a 2.5L auto turbo - it have a nice smooth acceleration and never had issue with the tranny - mind you i did the 100K service and changed all fluids regularly - so i am pretty sure it could be a issue with maintenance - try changing the tranmission fluid and service everything including the turbo - if needed - drain and clean the fuel tank , it may be an issue with water buildup as well.

Thanks for the info guys.....Lighthammer i am getting the buck just pulling off very slow, also i can't drive the van to get a good pull off as the van is very lazy.....seriously by all means lazy, my brother has the Mazda b2500 and i think they carry the same engine, although his is manual i know the perfomance should be similar but it not by a big margin.......Civic M, i will when i get home do a full service and change all fluids and hopefully get it perfoming again, anyone you can recommend close to La Romain to do the service?

I dunno about south, I do know that Sookai's Diesel next to Trac Mac by Medford flyover does diesel engine servicing. Worth giving them a call.

bad fuel leads to a number of problems - cleaning out your fuel system should solve the acceleration issue

homeboy, I'd recommend going to the dealership for the servicing as they have a lot more experience with these vans and they can quickly pinpoint and correct problems. The downside is that it will cost more.

If you're on a budget go with the basics lighthammer and civic minded suggested... and try to get hands on experience in the servicing process, it'll prove invaluable to you in the long run.

Go Slow, did you do your annual inspection at Licensing Office yet?

If so, did they give you any pressure?

i think there is something fishy here - a 2006 ranger with 40K on it seems un-real - people who buy these run it down like hell - a couple of times already people offer me to flash over the mileage- send it back to zero (since it is the electronic one and cannot roll back). So the idea was to send it back to zero - run it like hell for a couple of months till the mileage reach a ok figure and sell it. I am not suggesting it happen to you - but i know it is possible.

Hey ranger owners - how can you tell the WLT engine from the newer WLC TDCi engine, from external appearances only?

Well besides the obvious - what about in the engine bay in an unmarked Ranger?

I know the previous model PJ Ranger came with both WLT and WLC engines, how can you VISUALLY tell the difference inside the engine bay, besides the huge black piece of plastic covering the WLC engine?
