They proceeded west on the Eastern Main Road when the front seat passenger shouted out, “I is ah officer boy, I is ah officer.” As the vehicle in front of them moved off, he told the driver to drive and the vehicle sped off. Transit officers gave chase behind the vehicle and the passenger alighted from the vehicle carrying several bags and a firearm and began firing at Transit Officers. PC Nedd became fearful for his life and fired several shots at the man. He hid behind an apartment building and was eventually found hiding in some bushes. The driver of the vehicle made good his escape. Upon making checks the passenger was found to be No 20042 PC Jude Gonzales of #57 San Pedro Trace, Valencia, who’s presently on suspension and last attached to S.O.R.T. An undisclosed amount of 5.56 mm and .9mm ammunition, a magazine containing a number of 5.56 mm ammunition, a brown coloured Taurus firearm, magazine containing a number of .9mm ammunition, police jacket with patches, police utility belt outfitted with magazine holster and concealed holster, bags with clothes and two cellphones were found in PC Gonzales’ possession.
