Kamla should call the natex elections that is due in June... might as well call elections for her leadership position one time which is due in 2025. More than likely she would win. Paray is a good one, but he doesn't have the command of the membership that Kamla does.

If Kamla wins, she can boast that she got her mandate from the membership, clear out anyone that is against her, all internal elections behind her, and solely focus on generals that is due next year august or so.

None of those mocking pretenders to the throne stand a chance, so long as Tantie Kams controls that UNC members list.

And there is no way in hell she is going to let those mocking pretenders get that list.

This happened already in 2010. Will the aftermath be the same? ie PEA, Gary, Roget and whoever else gets thrown out like last rounds. Only hope for change is if she gets a taste of her own medicine and is betrayed by her inner circle..... imagine Barry as political leader lol.

You saying it have corruption in the unc internal election. If that the case, Kiel and Larry could take it court. Last I check the unc under the jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad and Tobago

If there is this widespread displeasure with the leadership of Kamla Persad Bissesear, Paray should be able to get 3,000 unc people to gather outside unc headquarters. Not so?

That's a valid point, ppl are disaffected with her but afraid to show it for fear of victimization, the UNC is still a party where dissent equals ostracisation and labeling as a PNM. The membership still has Kamla as a deity not to be challenged.

If they lose the next GE a simple EBC is PNM/voter padding/race etc will suffice to placate the core. They like it so, so why fuss about it

Yes, PM pension plus opposition leader salary with no real responsibility and surrounded by weak women and former men to massage the ego. It's almost as nice as a paid PNM blogger.

I don't think rank and file unc members have anything to lose if they go against kamla especially if they think they not going into govt

All the alleged dissatisfied people sat at home on their couch would fall into this group as they seem to fear the wrath of a 70+ year old woman who they claim is widely disliked

The ONLY Panday that matters in the political arena isn't around anymore. Another nail in the coffin for UNC with the other Pandays.

UNC knows what they are doing. Why would they ever want to get in power now? According to the rhetoric of the UNC: the economy in tatters, crime is rampant, govt closed down Petrotrin which was a miraculous money earner and property tax/reduced fuel subsidies/increased utilities rates are all unnecessary.

Who will ever want to get in power and face that mess? Although UNC clearly has the solution for all those problems and can resolve it if given the chance, let PNM continue to fail upwards until T&T begs them to come back into power and save the country from becoming the next Venezuela or Haiti.

As for now, work part time as an MP while maintaining your main hustle and keep safe in Opposition.

Brave attempt by Paray but Clark and Battoo done polish down his headstone for the political cemetery next to Vasant, Fuad and Ramona

Maximum leadership is entrenched in our political system and the path to power is a precision of timing and circumstance of which several have failed.

Specially re Kamla whether by design or happenstance she has separated herself in the UNC by ensuring that nobody in her leadership team with either party or parliament status is likeable. Think about it, who else outside of her in UNC has any kind of nationwide appeal? Anyone smelling popular she has put to pasture with the quickness and she remains the ONLY choice by the rank and file. Dr Moonilal knows that while he may have the record of tenure and a national profile to justify a charge for leadership, he at least smart enough to know that he just not politically attractive and he has to wait till Kamla herself endorses him because basically there is nobody else and even if that works for the rank and file UNC he also has too much political baggage to have nationwide appeal, everybody else is just terrible politically and has zero appeal.

He was a temporary senator. But why the authorities not giving the man approval, three different developments, the man can't get approval for.

The leader of the UNC has to strike a balance between keeping support of the Indian base while getting support in the corridor. Kamla currently doing a better job of the latter and that's real reason why she getting so much push back, people find the Indian essence dissipating

 Sure
"The findings also reveal neither party has attracted significant cross-racial support but the PNM has attracted more Indo-Trinidadians than the UNC has attracted Afro and mixed Trinidadians. Indo-Trinidadians don’t see the UNC returning to office with the result that many party supporters, including financiers, have been gravitating towards and embracing the PNM. "

The UNC, Nacta continued, does not attract similar crossover support from Afro- or mixed Trinidadians.

"The latter further reduces the electoral prospect of UNC capturing government whenever elections are held."

even pea foot more wet in the ring than she

staying on the sidelines and issuing a lil commentary every few months is all she does do......

Exactly. I don't know what he drinking to come up with that. The Indian base is shrinking and the mixed, educated, young and undecided voters view her as very unlikable. It makes no sense that all your support is concentrated in central while the PNM has taken and entrenched themselves in the former marginals. Of course, when you had a 29/12 majority, constitutional reform to enable proportional representation was an option, but section 34 was more important somehow.

allyuh leave Mmoonilal. We not supposed to critique the queen. Generally, his logic is "wHY aLLyuh onLy TalKIng bOut kaMlA? we sUPpoSe 2 b FocUSsin on rOwlEY"

At least habit7 will give some arguments and pushback in the pnm ched.

But to be fair Kamla never said she would not call internal elections, so let's see what happens between now and june.

No boss, my logic is that right now it's between Kamla and Rowley and if you do anything to undermine kamla at this point, that means you want a next five years of Rowley. And that's fine, anybody free to support who they want.
