ok are you sure that the engines is not back pressuring?
cause that could be a sign or back pressure take the hose from the Tappet cover off from the intake manifold side and look inside of it and see if it has oil and how much oil there is.
if it have alot of oil in the hose then the engine may be back pressuring more than needed. if this is the case instead of a rings jobs just invest in a 'oil catch can'.another way to know if your engine is back pressuring is, when you switch off the vehicle the engine cuts off and you hear a hissing sound from the engine for 2-3 seconds. in an normal engine you might hear it for 0.5 seconds and that is okay still. but 2-3 seconds is kinda bad.
