Met a guy from South Africa a few years ago, he remarked how similar Trinidad was to Johannesburg, in terms of architecture and cultural influences.

Why go expensive DX format nikon is my question. If going DX, best go low end, unless you want to use the more expensive nikon glass.

Not for that price sire.

I still contemplating whether to buy that lens you have for sale, or dragist 85mm. I get a new vaps and looking at the lensbaby composer kit for around the same price. I want to use the film camera for creative shots, and thinking that that might suit my needs for now. Do you know of any good EF mopunt tilt/ shift lenses?

Tilt and Shift Lens are not cheap those cheap "T&S Kits" dont really deliver .

Lensbaby adapter are cheap but you will use them in such a small percentage of shots .

I hope that it was not Mr. Expensive Crap Fong

it was lol

and he was also promoting his new book, but basically spoke about the art of a good wedding photographer. Basically said when he started out his pictures were crap, but his attention to detail and ability to portray a wedding story rather than just wedding pictures, is what made him stand out and succeed. he said in 1984 his 1st year starting made 64k in 1 year.

another tip that was made is always work on a wedding and finish it b4 any new projects. This way each wedding gets teh same lvl of attention as the other. Unlike some other photographers who just book appointments one after the other and hand you albums 1 year after.

Also said dont screw with a client, you mess up with a couple word spreads you lose business.

to an un-trained person (me), can't one get the same effect by selecting one or a few AF points rather than all - to get that blurred rest-of-image but focus on a particular part?

Nope first of all It's practically impossible to Auto Focus with a Lensbaby , remember that you are twisting the body of the lens to distort the image .

thanks...understand alot better from the pics in the link...

was referring to non-use of lens-baby- jus simple altering of the autofocus points to get that focus in some parts and blurred in others with a normal lens BUT i understand now the effect one is trying to capture ..

I use only one Focus point ( Center ) , when I focus on a subject with a normal lens in theory lets say it's a Flower 10' in front of me everything else in the Focal plane will be in focus and things in front and behind will be out of focus It's called Depth of Field so you cant get the same effect as the lenababy .

This lens will help more on the Lensbaby

Help
My 50 mm canon lens is stuck on my camera, the lens fell down and I wanted to make sure it was working so I put it on the camera,I did use a little force for it to lock into place, now I can't get it off.

Is there any place in Trinidad where it can be repaired,it's a canon eos 50d.
Thanks in advance.

I shot this one up Lady Chancellor.

Good shot 16 , watch your focus the ribbon in more in focus than the Flowers unless that's the look you were going for .

^ thanks for the tip...really learned alot from you all so far..

thought the ribbon in focus would have made the best capture of the scene as the out-of-focus ribbon might have seemed "noisy"

want to work on moving targets now...for that blurr effect...
