I know someone that had the sportero and when they drove my Vigo they asked if it was a gas engine and said it felt like an executive car suspension and not like a van's at all.

The suspension is truly.......WOW

Can you even calculate an engine's torque figures? You ever watch truck racing and see how trucks built for speed are designed?

It was obviously designed to accelerate 0 to 60 in 6.5 sec. That much we can agree on

Again no, it was designed to tow boats, trailers, haul tools, hay etc. To do this requires a very powerful engine with gobs of torque, hard to achieve with smaller displacement engines.

Not sure how few persons saying it lazy. I also have the full carry boy kit n 20's and it really works nice. Was thinking its time to upgrade but.......to what now ? F250, dodge ram ......lol

The 2.5 vgt sportero is the fastest of the local pickups according to an acceleration chart I saw on here.
I know the 3.2 pulls stronger than the hilux 3.0 from personal experience but the hilux has a better ride.

These newer Sportero also rides a lot smoother than the old one. I own a 2009 3.2L and my mom owns one of the new 2.5L versions and I prefer hers, but the torque of the 3.2 is great for mudding.

What I am saying is that the design intent wasn't acceleration, but that the quicker acceleration was a byproduct of the design intent.

So.you are saying that the only way they could have gotten towing power and torque was with a by product of high acceleration?

So those big trucks in TT have fast acceleration?

And the designers had no intention whatsoever to have fast acceleration?

Hmm

And it has the long tray. I never drove the new 2.5 though.
