definitely software based.

i think it might be more applicable in other countries when driving much longer distances than what we accustomed to here. think interstate with cruise control on and going for a few hrs.

Instructions for a 2010 Jetta mk5.

Part numbers for the decorative strip in the rear doors: left and right. Several colours for you to choose from.

The part is highlighted as number 30 in the image. Let me know if it matches up with the shape of the

part you are talking about in your Jetta.

Boy Allergic, thank you so much for this, you would be an asset in BA. You know more about these cars than some of those techs, no lie. One thing though, those part numbers that I'm looking at, would I be able to use them to give the parts department at Massy to get the part? Or is it for online ordering? Sorry for the stupid question.

I never ordered any part from Massy yet but I would think that they would also check this and use these part numbers. They are universal. You could ask a dealer in the US or UK for the part using these part numbers and would be able to get the same item. D question isn't dumb. This info isn't something you can just easily find I've found. It's why certain dealers get away with some of the stuff they do as most persons have no way of knowing if the dealer is being truthful.

Yes, exactly, I would have had no idea where to look myself, thanks again. Good thing you shared this though, because it looks as though a special tool is required to pull the trim out.

"special tool". Not so special. VW has specific tools for everything and usually the dealer would have these. As an individual though it doesn't make sense cost wise to get the specific tool sold by VW as it's usually alot more expensive. For something like trim you can use a simple pry tool.

Something like this might work as well as the special tool in this case for the trim:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LN ... UTF8&psc=1

The most important thing is taking your time.

Guys, i have a lot of parts for the mk5 jetta.I bought a brand new one that cannot be licensed, so I'm scrapping it out for parts. It was never driven, and the plastic is still on the body and seats.

Sorry to hear that man.. I had some trouble when I brought my MK5 down last year but got it sorted just took some time.

Either way I would take the engine.. turbo... hehe I kid. Give some more info about it, anyone stock piling parts would surely want.
