Hmm First of All, X2 don't own an Evo, he just beat the hell out of em.. well some anyway LOL!

Anyway our local vin diesel is right, Positive Displacement S/C's do have serious heat issues because of HOW they compress the air. If you look at their design you'll see why, its kinda like stuffing air into a giant blender thingie.

And for the record I've seen a Turbo Laser, the thingie was pretty zippy and sounded very nice. I'd go turbo!

It's not good to come across as knowing everything, because people will prove you wrong from time to time, it's better to be humble. With that said, you seem a little confused....let me help you out.

1. X2 and I already established that he doesn't have an evo...thanks for re-establishing what we already discussed.

2. Your right....X2 pointed this out to me.

3. It's all good that you and X2 would go turbo, I am not debating that opinion...infact as I mentioned before I prefer that approach. However, the whole reason we are discussing superchargers is because:

You said you need a new intake when going turbo ? How come ?

you need to make a intake plenum to collect the charged air from the turbo/supercharger to get it into the carbs some how??

with drafts/carbs you will need some sort of airbox/intake plenum.

with EFi you should already have an intake plenum on the intake manifold holding the injectors etc, unless it's ITB's..

Razkal... how strong is that oval blue thingy on the carb ? If it's steady and the clips holding it together are sturdy enough, you might be able to use your existing intake piping... but honestly... it would really help if we at least had a pic of the setup or a similar one... and maybe a snap of the s/c you are looking at too. (google ?)

Hoe hoe hoe...
Take it easy there buddy, who u trying to sheit up?

Read my post carefully, first of all the first line was simply four laughs, sorry if you didn't laugh.
Secondly I was just trying to shed a lil more light on the reason why Positive displacement s/c's have heat issues. I just used a simple analogy in case some people dont understand. My post was in no way targeted at you. You have to remember this is a forum and lots of people read the information available here, not just you.
Thirdly, I never told the man to go turbo, my last comment was simply "for the record" thats why I clearly stated that!
I said that I (yes me) would go turbo, nothing about X2 going turbo.

Now you really shouldn't tell me anything about humility because trying to sheit up someone who was just making a post to try and clarify a minor issue is not very humble.
Lets remember to respect one another.

^^LOL   ...guys well i really wanted to go turbo..but time spent with the car off the road and the money req'd and the fact that a new head and cam would be req'd kinda put the idea on hold.......an i'm still not sure what s/c i'm getting....the guy said 700$...so i'm assuming one that came in a jap car prob an no aftermarket business...prob MR2 or sum so.....as soon as i get it i'll post as much info as possible fellas.....and yeah we reinforced the blue air pan thingy...dont think it will be big enough to act as a reserve for the force fed compressed air from a turbo tho :? ...and again..is it reallly worth turboin that 8valve 4banger?.....maybe for xmas i'll do some more plannin maybe install the s/c........i'll be glad for any 2nr help tho...u guys have gr8 info 8)
