Re: AUSTRALIA Pac Performance Mazda6 6.45@216MPH NEW RECORD!

Pac recently did a 6.52 pass but hit the wall on the top end mainly because his Parachute did not open and it was the only way to stop the car. Thank God nothing Major happen to both car or driver. The Mazda 6 will be back soon.

From the PAC Page http://www.pacperformance.com.au/news-9 ... U.facebook
AIN'T NO STACK GUNNA HOLD PAC BACK...

You saw it happen after the pre Jambo tyre explosion and it's happening again after Friday nights accident at Sydney Dragway. The Pac Performance dream team have been working non-stop all night until the early hours of this morning on the Mazda6 SP; repairing the damage and prepping the car to race this Friday at the Australian Nationals.

While a lot of teams/workshops would have thrown in the towel and given up on trying to get a crashed car up and running for an event only 7 days after an accident of this nature, the Pac Performance crew and extended team just wouldn't have that and with the car having put down its best half track incrementals EVER on that last pass, it was an added incentive to get her back on the track sooner rather than later.

After a blistering half-track things turned sour for George and the Mazda6 SP; once again the gearbox gremlin attacked, snapping the extension housing when George shifted into third gear. Determined to finish the pass George shifted into top gear before backing off and coasting over through the finish beams for a 6.52@198. Releasing his grip on the shifter momentarily to hit the chutes the re-securing the shifter that was now jumping around the cabin George thought it was all over but alas, no chutes....

Now flying through the deep end at 190+mph George hit the brakes seeing the left side lock up whilst once again trying to deploy the parachutes. This time they released but not before the car became severely unsettled at speed and although George did a spectacular job of keeping the car off the left side wall, the Mazda6 SP shot across the track and tagged the right side wall.

Obviously devasted the team came together on Monday to discuss the plan of attack and it was decided that rather than put off the repairs they would get stuck into the car straight away in an effort to have the car not only attend the Australian Nationals this weekend, but compete.

Fast forward to Tuesday night and the dream team gathered, the car was stripped down and the repairs began.

As always, everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work including the girls who not only do an awesome job but also keep the boys in check making sure there's no slacking off

Ross the fabrication guru was working like a machine, repairing and replacing all the metal work. This also included fabricating a replacement tail light from alloy when a factory item could not be sourced in time from overseas...

Jana, the carbon fibre chick as she likes to call herself worked tirelessly through the night and into the early hours of the morning repairing the body work before turning up again as we opened up the shop today and getting right back into things. True dedication and hard work is what this team is all about!

The spare set of wheels came in handy with the originals being damaged. The guys working feverously, two rattle guns at a time replacing the Goodyears with a fresh set of Micky Thompsons

With only 48 hours to go before Nationals qualifying begins there's no rest for the wicked and with a lot of work still to go the team are still working flat out.

Once again we would like to send out a HUGE thank you to our crew and extended team for their massive effort as always!! You're the reason we are where we are today...

PAC is Back !! A Week ago the Australian PAC PERFORMANCE Mazda 6 hit the wall after a 6.52 Pass because of a broken Transmission Tail shaft and failed Parachute. After much determination to get the Car back and running in an event a week from then they worked tremendously hard and amazingly they are ready and loading up to go to the Tracks !!!

They managed to get a test pass of 6.6@205MPH and calling it a day !!!
