Just measure the filter. It might be hard to get one dat says 'for S15 on it' but its a nissan so more than likely there is another vehicle that uses that exact filter.

Having the same problem with my EK3 civic it does not have a filter.

Went by an AC man in south who said that it maybe the Evaporator, either needs servicing or has a leak. Told me $700 to service it. Told him "I'll pass back"

the wynns products is a two part applicant. has two for ac smeel. make sure to buy both.

Want to try this..Where can I get this to buy? Thanks

Well if your car doesn't have a filter more than likely the evaporator will need servicing. Without the filter all the dust that would have been filtered out by the filter simply sticks to the evaporator (this is years ah dust eh  ), it does actually look like black mud :|. $700 not bad because he would have to break the ac line to get the evaporator out of the car, then he have to clean it, put it back up and gas up the system. You would be surprised at how much of a difference that would make since the ac would be cooling better, blowing harder and more than likely with the mud gone the smell would go with it (along with all the other bacteria and thing in the same mud that does actually cause the bad smell).

I recall....in my wingroad....a certain air fragrance that bears the name of a flower associated with opium is the cause. Also a certain oil used to make a popular soap from lever bros. does it as well. This oil is a popular rubdown used in carwash places...for that super clean smell.

The fragrance denatures into a slight vinegar smell once it gets into the cold a/c. A/c Evap. got be be real cold.
If i use said fragrance still...within a day or so the smell is back. Lose the fragrance....it takes about a week to stop. as the fragrance has gotten into the car seats and carpeting. So if u using said fragrance....air out the car and see in a week.

Mind u my xtrail has no prob with said fragrance, but the Xtrail a/c can't compete with Mr. Artic Wingroad.

Turbonator is correct.

I got rid of my AC smell by going to another AC technician (I shopped around  )

Firstly the gas was released. The evaporator (my car does not have a filter) was then taken out by the glove box, checked for leaks then cleaned...

After drying it was then put back and then it was re-gassed. No more smell and my AC is blowing cold as ever. Cost $400.

I supposed that if my car did have a filter this would have needed to be checked.
