real simple sr. we buyin the drum, and fitting it with a lil valve and some pvc piping. that way we can full gallon bottles, pails etc etc.
the problem with the drum is that the resin will self activate and get thick due to ambient heat and get lumps.we need to figure out who sells them plastic gallon bottles.

we should have done this sooner. my team used about 12 gallons for this build season on our builds. darn. oh well.

as we on this topic, what fillers you guys use? we use technifill from ppg. We used evercoat zcut before, but the technifill dries quicker with less cream hardner. and cuts easy with 32 grit sand paper. its also cheaper!

aite..i cud get the price of a drum of resin from corsa an i kno where u cud get the gallon bottles buh ill only say where u gettin the bottles from once allyuh serious an is take about 53 to 56gallons to empty a drum of resin..

nigel1977 wrote:as we on this topic, what fillers you guys use?

the filler u cud use microballoon with resin an tha a rel good hard filler..

pioneer wrote:i ask this because i kinda prone to causing a fire

i am a bit confused as to how to lay the matting down, do i soak the mat in the resin then lay it down, or do i lay the mat down then brush the resin onto it ?

lol
an as for ya question u dont soak matting in resin..u put it up where u want buh use either a paint brush or a rollerpad..rollerpad is best thing when u putting over a large surface area..den u get abubble chaser an roll dat to get out all the bubbles an dis wud get the mat flat an smoothe also it takes away the excess unncessary resin from the area so u cud spread it around..cud get the rollerpad an bubble chaser from corsa cud get the pricing fuh u on it

the fire was caused by static electricity igniting flammable gasses released from expansion foam. the trunk was not properly ventilated.
be warned.

dont use classic. its a cheap arse shitty filler that doesnt spread evenly, mixes shitty, and doesnt adhere well.

if you cant get evercoat z grip, get evercoat rage gold, or ppg technifill.

we dont buy from general stores xfactor. their prices are higher and they only carry epoxy resin.

pios, any quality autobody shop should have evercoat products, if not, you'll get it at franks pain shop, union road marabella. thats where we get technifill..

btw. i think we bought the last 4 gallons of technifill until he gets a new shipment

here is how i do it.

divide the bottle of resin in like 8 parts with a marker on the side. divide the bottle of hardner in 8. use 1 part of hardner to 1 "part"resin. works everytime.

caution, if the ambient temp is low, you may need more hardner, or you may need to heat the resin a bit.
