....But I won't even bother with a project like this 15devils turboed his B15 and the engine blew up 2 days later

yeah but benzene's own been running for how long and over 140 k's a day  for 50,000 k's, obviously 15devils own wasn't tuned well.

i am very, very impressed.. i think once you hit the dyno, i would use the wide band, aim for 11.7 A/R and see if ya can hit 10 maybe 12 psi and get an extra 20-30 ponies. and then back it down a pound for daily driving. maybe try the Emanage's other features like timing control to try to optimize timing for the increased boost.

Man them maccaroni rods and crix pistons can't take that. Is either all the pisons fry,the head leaves the block or a rod gonna fly.

I heard of it before, seen it on NPM GA16 turbo project...but can u kinda give details on how it actually works...

cuz here in Thailand...i don't think that it has ever come across any drag racers' mind to spray water into the intake..:P

I personally would love to try it out...probably b da first in Thailand and they prob think im crazy too LOL. :)

i think it gave sumting like 40whp on sumone's car......cant really remember though...
in the powersellers forum there is a thread where W2J sells it. check it out or pm him, cuz i think he uses it too

well well now, i just happened to stumbled upon this topic and i'm impressed with all the work done to your qg16 engine.

i think u should really get the car dynoed and tell us how much power u r getting, by the way...do u run 7psi boost daily or do u lower the boosts at times?

thx

Boosting daily at 7 psi ... ODO at 25x,xxx km :D

gonna mayb add external wastegate and up boost to round 1.0 bar..bout 14 ~ 15 psi ... hopefully will all go well :)

will try to get some numbers..1/4 mile or dynoed

hey good work benzene...I also have a qg16de with some slight mods on it though..thinking of putting the GA16DE turbo kit for it though, because the exhaust manifold is an exact fit..but you have a very interesting setup, like the rest I would be happy to know how it goes on a dyno and the 1/4 mile time.

been quite a whileee since i logged on

after about 80K km after the install I swaped out the QG and now been running the SR20VE for 1 year now :) the QG was still in good shape ( ODO was at about 270 000 km when i did the swap) and I parted it out and even sold the engine too

Greetings from South Africa,

I'v also turbo'd my qg16 nissan almera and the results were quite impressive.

I went all out on the conversion, low compression pistons, custom built manifolds, aftermarket engine management system, stainless steel exhaust etc. It took me some time to get everything done as I’m not really a mechanical person, but it was all worth it in the end.

On 0.5 bar / 7.2psi boost it made about 170hp on the wheels and about 215nm torque (on stock injectors) which i found to be quite nippy and a bit temperamental if it was raining as I still had the standard size tires fitted... (the sleeper look...)

The motor has been running for quite a number of km as it is my daily drive and i used to do about 150km a day to work and back (moved closer to work... now drive 14km to work and back).

I am now currently in the process of completely rebuilding the motor, new bearings, new pistons (oversized as i had to bore the cylinders because of wear and tear), modifying the manifold to accomodate and external wastegate as the actuator in the internal wastegate has now been replaced twice and keeps causing issues, larger injectors as well as some engeneering work like gas flowing the head and balancing the rotating assembly etc...

Now... My question is if I want to take the boost up to 1 or 1.2bar / 14psi or 17psi (the management system allows me to switch between maps) for the sport map and then keep the 0.5bar as the normal will the stock conrods and crank be able to keep up with the extra power or do I have to get forged internals?
Im guessing the power would be around 200 -210 hp on the wheels, maby more.... also if I want to boost that high what would the recommended compression ratio be?

Posting some pics of the project for you to enjoy...

I did the same set up on a Qg15DET with 10psi but i used the Qg18 injectors.

I know the standard compression ratio for this motor is 9.5:1, so how low should the compression be to be able to boost 14psi?
I spoke to a guy that specializes in nissan turbo conversions, but he has not yet heard of anyone doing the conversion on this motor and finding performance parts for this motor here in SA is not so easy... he told me that i would be safe round 7.5:1 The only problem is to source some low compression pistons and i need them a bit oversized also as i have to re-bore my cylinders due to some wear and tear...

Your setup was on the 1.5 version of the motor and i also think it is a newer generation from the one i'm using... i'm not sure of the size of the qg18 injectors but i'm planning on a set of 400 - 450cc's should be big enough i think as the qg16 standard size is 160 or 180cc... (not 100% sure...)
