do a search in this topic for Auvio Cables from Radioshack

I bought a set of those and it made a notable difference when I plugged the flow digital box into my receiver using composite

I highly doubt you damaged anything in the receiver itself,as most of the newer model stuff come with failsafe's to automatically cut off,but i am interested in what you meant by "right surround shorted"

A model number of the receiver will also help diagnose your problem.

its a 7.1 system
the model of the receiver is onkyo ht-r940
just to clarify all other channels are playing
i.e left, right, sub, rear left and rear right.
only center, surround left and right are not playing.
What i meant by shorted is the wires for + and _ of the speaker were touching
confirm is the deck thou cause the speakers work when i switch them to the other channels. and the tone test on the receiver doesnt work for the channels mentioned

significant improvement over the cheaper no name composites and coax.

seems good, but keep in mind your own use. They may take off big marks when a receiver doesnt have Satellite Radio or only has a 1yr warranty - but those things are not useful to you in trinidad, so paying for it wont make sense and your rating on a lower rated system might be higher and your rating on a higher rated system may be lower when considering your own needs and preferences.

They all seem to have the important stuff though which is HDMI support and support for all the HD audio formats. So output power is the next choice if you don't plan on using an external amplifier (most people dont). Do you need an iPod attachment? Does the receiver have built in AirPlay? All those may be cool but if it's more than US$99 difference you will get more value by going for a receiver without those options and buying an Aplle TV which can do alot more than connect your iPod or AirPlay.

you get the drift

Real audio heads might argue that Yamaha and Denon have a more natural almost woodsy tone whereas Sony and Onkyo sound more digital - but unless you can audition each receiver before buying it - all that is not going to help you decide.

read plenty

sounds like you did everything i would think of there,it may be something in the receiver itself.

So for christmas/boxing day . deciding on getting a 55-60" screen 3D.. now i cant decide on what type of 3D tech to go with .. active vs passive 3D . i know passive "splits the resolution in half" and may notice lines etc(how bad is it 2uners). and the active shutter glasses have there drawbacks with the infrared and sync etc.
Notice samsung changed the infrared to bluetooth tech in there 2011 up models to fix that problem. but want to know form tuner experience what would you guys go with ?

3 TVs in i am looking at atm below
samsung is active( corner bleeding issues)
LG is passive( corner bleeding issues)
Sony is active( no glasses included in box)
http://www.amazon.com/LG-55LM7600-55-In ... s=LG+3d+tv

and

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN55ES800 ... samsung+3d

or just go with a small but less problematic(from online reviews) TV
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR46HX929-4 ... sony+3d+tv

I have that built into my monster surge protector. But yes that works very well with flows poor grounding.
I had lines and noise before running the coax through the surge.

so i bought a LED 3D monitor to try first before going for the 55-60"(passive3D) watched transformers dark moon 3D was pretty impressed HD using the polarized glasses. only problem atm i have IMAX under the sea 3D and the mkv video is very laggy :(. lag depends on the player i use but still get jitters and lag. the players that i tired are Tridef 3D, nvidia 3d player, stereographic video player and the smoothest(but still laggy) is Bino

dual core 2.8gz processor
ati 5770
4GB ram
HDMI 1.3 atm ( duno if this my prob yet) i know for proper 3D required 1.4a correct me if im wrong

is it showing good on the PC without hooking up to the TV?

no its on a 3D pc screen atm.. only the mkv giving that problem the video and audio will stutter and pick up again from lag but it not smooth .. not sure if its the video itself .. going to try IMAX hubble 3D to see if its just to video that i got. the other formats works flawless.. now if i run the video in a normal player ( gom , vlc etc) it plays smooth but in SBS mode(showing the 2 screens) it cant play them meshed for the 3D :\

^ does that ATI 5770 support 3D? I thought only the 6xxx support 3D out of the box

I believe you have to get a patch or different drivers for the 5770 to play 3D

I dunno about 'best' but:

Comfortzone has a 32" Panasonic lcdtv (probably 720p) for $3200>>>part of relocation sale.

Courts have this new brand TCL, 32" 720p LED LCDTV for $3500>>>slim profile
and a normal ccfl backlit lcdtv for $2800 720p.

Seems most of the TCL models pretty good from reviews online.
