The reason why the 1.8 Corolla is $263k (more expensive than a 2.0 GT Lancer @ 260k) is primarily due to the fact that it has a beams yamaha tuned dual vvti engine according to the salesrep so it have the fyarrrrrzzz.![]()

and ROFL @ the loaded 1.5 Corolla for $212k.
a chevy cruze 1.8 loaded is $215k
stealership TTTL FTL
the 1.8 corollas we get are 1zzfe, 2zrfe or 2zzge?
unless its 2zzge (which was never put into that series corolla its bull)
the 2zrfe is the replacement for the 1zz which is dual vvt-i
the 2zzge is dual vvtl-i (lift is what makes it beams powarrrrr)
actually the US market has the 2zzge in their version of the corolla sedan in addition to the toyota matrix, but rated at 180hp instead of JDM 190hp
not in the new corollas
the new corollas the XRs is the 2.4 2az same in the camry and scion tc

Of course, that was done under warranty, but after lots of headache and trying to "convince" dealership - or so I'm told.

I like the SGV but dont see the point of getting a car whose design is 10yrs old and soon due for change.
Apart from SSL's horrible track record, i cant quite see why the CX-5 costs so much and really dont think its worth the price. That said, i still need to go check it out and test drive for myself.
So far the Tiguan and XV are at the top of my list...only issue with the Tiguan is the size..seems really small...
I'm waiting for confirmation that Ford is bringing the Kuga and Lifestyle the new SGV next year also...

Check the Euro Manufacturers forum. There's a thread on the new jetta. Some of discussion is regarding the transmission issues for the VW. Appears to be certain models. If I recall correctly there are posts that lists which model of the dsg/ jetta has been known to suffer from the problem.

You or someone else posted that Lifestyle were bringing an updated SGV next year...any timeframe?
Would there be any interior changes? i'm not too big on exterior but the actual cabin to me is more important, hence leaning to the tiguan...
scotty_buttons, why would you say the XV isnt worth the tag?
