you actually need to do the opposite if you want to lose weight. channa is chock full of carbohydrates and calories

Can we talk about good fats, people? Peanut butter? Avocado? Unalsted almonds and cashews? Anything else?

Also, does anyone juice? I juice fresh greens/fruits - kale, celery, green apple, wheatgrass and try and drink this daily. I love juicing!

I also try and stay away from sugary fruits - protugal/tangerine, mangoes, sapodila, etc. and do more acidic/alkaline balanced fruits - berries, strawberries, lemon, grapefruit, green apple. The more acidic, the better...for me, at least!

she taking psyllium for that 8-)

also, too much of those seasonings are actually bad for you since they can interfere with the ph balance in your stomach

she actually got gastritis a while ago from constantly cooking/eating food laden with the aforementioned seasonings..so she has good reason to stay away from it

not using google science here

Does she take probiotics?

nice.

I make myself a nice recovery drink after my work out which at time doubles as dinner cause im no longer hungry after it, ofcourse i go to bed approx 2 hours after consuming it to let it work out the glucose levels.

1 Scoop of designer whey chocolate protein - 100 cals
1 banana - 90 cals
250ml 1% milk - 110cals
1 table spoon of peanut butter -70 cals.
370cals.
Blend that sheit up with some crush ice. Very fulling, great tasting. Good protein to carb ratio. Its like having one doubles for dinner which im sure wont full most of you, but this smoothie does.

Nice! I'll have to try this recipe.

What about good fats? Which do you incorporate in your diet besides peanut butter?

guys, found this great little snack in food basket yesterday:

Image

its unsalted (ive started watching my sodium intake alot as of recently), only 4grams of carbs per serving with is about a 1/2 cup. 4g protein, no sodium and it taste really good. Its about $25. Its not made from nuts but has a peanut taste to it, its made from wheat germ.

fitday has a very good calorie counter also
to lose weight its best to try and cut 200-300 calories from your existing intake and do some exercise to burn another 200-300
you can lose 1lb/week like that easy

i've read that drinking juice/soft drink with meals isnt good because the sugar hits ur blood faster than that of the food itself...so by the time ur food is digested, there is no need for that energy so it is stored....
so try drinking water during meals and splurge with the sugar filled drink later....

Btw...
Black pepper helps in treating heartburn and indigestion by stimulating hydrochloric acid production. Pepper also has anti-oxidant property and it increases metabolic rate. Here’s the link for more information: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tnam ... ce&dbid=74

on the flip side, too much pepper upsets the ph balance of the stomach and can lead to gastritis, ulcers etc

only a little bit of pepper per meal would be ideal

girl i does eat it as a light snack at night, probably 2 hours before bed time, i can get some protein from it to, i use 2-3 strawberries and i would dip them in the cottage cheese, i dont have much of a sweet tooth to begin with eh, i always was more a person for spicy stuff. So it tasted ok for me, not double chocolate chip good, but i get the sweet from the strawberries and a bit of a sour taste from the cottage cheese they kindda balance out.

Another light snack is apple and pb, i would cut the apples in 4 pieces and coat each one with about a tablespoon of peanut butter. its a little more tasty, whats not to like anyway, its apples - good, peanut butter - mmmmmmm

Yet another snack i woudl use when available is celery sticks dipped in the cottage cheese as it has a bit of tangy flavor like the dip.

btw, the best pb i saw and have tried is the planters pb, 1tb is 95 cals, 4g carbs, 8g protein, 3g sugar. Its a bit expensive tho.

Any advice on the best brown rice/pasta and where to get it? (up north preferably)
I've seen varying types and prices around, and I know some aren't really that good for you either, especially the "brown" pastas
