It does not go through the steps immediately as it takes a few sec to drill through to the bigger size.

Can't exactly describe it as it's literally tactile feedback from the drill, but you'll know when you've gotten through each step on the bit before you hit a bigger one.

Got this at the Tool Store in south.
Has spark plug sockets and a great handle. Also has some extension bars and a T bar handle.
Wont use all those large sockets but its always good to have them :|
Downside is that the case has no handles.....

50lbs huh? Well that rules that out, that's close to $900 in skybox freight alone.

PM'ed a powerseller once who offers sea freight, his price was higher than the air freight :)

Damn I thought that jack was local yes.

For all who interested, Farfan has 3 ton jacks for around $850. The type they use in tyre shops.

Thinking about getting a palm grip router. It will be used rarely and only to do edges on mdf and cut small holes for speakers and recesses for speakers as well. Should i put the extra to get a variable speed model given my criteria?

Once you're sure that's all you're going to do, this has some great reviews all over the interweb. I almost bought this before i saw the Skil 1830.

Bosch Colt - $103

Image

Seriously though, i would recommend the Skil for light to medium use although its not palm grip. The combo is much more versatile.

Skil 1830 - $109 (approx $900TT landed)

Variable speed, plunge, 2 1/4 HP

Image

Or for a bit less (less shipping too as it's lighter)

Skil 1817 - $73

No variable speed or plunge 1 3/4 HP

Image

This Milwaukee is really cool with both types of grips

$140 ($170 for the variable speed version)

If you're buying locally, prepare to be screwed over.

yes without a doubt get d router in variable speed for sure

i recommend a bigger router than d palm grip type for that purpose

i actually have a porter cable hand held\laminate trimmer like this 1 : http://www.portercable.com/Products/Pro ... ctID=11107 that i used for round over corners , it worked eh but i find it had to work a lil hard since these kinds really make for laminate trimming & lighter jobs

u shud get 1 of d smaller routers like d 1-1.5 hp models ...

Planer is pretty light, maybe 3 lbs, can toss it around in the air.

The Router not so light, maybe 6-7 lbs with base.

Ok got home and ACTUALLY took them out and i may have underestimated a bit.

Planer - 5lbs - Still among the lightest planers i have used. Really feels lighter than it is, go figure.
Router - 8lbs - Dunno if that's good or bad, i've never used a router before this one.
