Rooki3

the question is, entertain who?

Just so you know, I still think Vybz has some wikkid lyrical styles (refer to:"wey yuh bad from"), and the fact that he has written for alot of deejays from the era of dancehall which I still respect says alot, but this whole gaza/gully thing just dotish and is mostly marketing now.

The entire process by which "riddims" are produced now is just sad, too much ripoff of hiphop and r&b riffs. Listen to the tunes from the previous pages (which you claim is middle age men trying to relive their glory days), and maybe you will recognise the cultural significance of the percussive notes and twangy bass lines that are common.

I understand you are young and just as I was at your age I was a bit bullheaded and thought I knew and understood much more than I really did about music (and life), so just chill out youth and accept that what is here today has it's roots in what was here before.

Rispeck

allthat and,,,......HAPPY 420 PEOPLE!!!!
I IZ HIGH 4 LIFE

^^ I didn't even bother to listen to it actually. Most of his songs sound alike anyway. Heard one, heard all.

But I understand that what u know. But the variety, talent, niceness just ain't there anymore.

Yes there are one or 2 nice ones but damn there is one setta sameness. Why you think dem 2 Busy Signal tunes was big hits? (Night Shift & One More Night). Although in the earlies I was kinda sour grapes because he rip-off 2 classic BIG tunes. Also hearing IDIOTS calling into radio stations and saying they better that the original songs!! :2gunfire: But over time I had to acknowledge they were a fresh difference.

Another thing,long time had so many characters with different sounds, Cutty Ranks,Super Cat,Nicodemus,Tenor Saw, Eek-A-Mouse,Buju Banton,Mad Cobra,Shabba Ranks, Tiger,Lovindeer,Josey Wales,Barrington Levy,Shaggy(Early version),MercilessBeenieman,Ninjaman,Capleton,Garnett Silk,Pinchers,Papa San, Daddy Lizard,Cocoa Tea,Everton Blender,Dirtsman,General Degree,etc.

Now Kartel,Busy and quite a lot more sing with the SAME style making it kinda boring.......

But that is just my opinion...
