Perhaps only due to a lag between cases and death. Cases going down but it takes time for deaths to go down as they would have got infected weeks earlier.

Still I feel plenty elderly are anti vax and willing to dead. 12 today.

Other countries have very high vax rates among the elderly like 80% and higher.

The likely culprit is insufficient testing. If the positivity rate is high, there is either very high infection or not enough testing.

The expected maximum positivity rate is about 5%. The testing positivity rate in Trinidad has been above 14% since June.

Not enough vaccinations! Too many pseudointellectuals.

Hear me out. The government brought J&J from the African Union in hopes that the African communities here will feel comfortable with taking the vaccine.

The percentage is of the total world population killed by covid is 0.06%

But what we are dealing with only a total infection rate of 2.82%

That's pretty low. Then further to that your risk of dying is barely 2.12%

It is estimated that at least 5x to 10x the number infected so far will be infected without mitigation efforts.

Expect 22mn to 45mn dead without masks, social distancing or vaccines. That's the same population of all the Caribbean countries combined.

matr1x wrote:Not that difficult. 7.5 billion ppl. Only 213 mil got infected. Of that only 4.4 mil died
Very very low risk

India's deaths are estimated to be well over 2M.

A colleague in India said at one point in his state region they ran out of death certificates and just stopped processing.

I don't think they're deliberately under-reporting. Its just that they don't have the capacity to confirm covid related deaths...

China however....

That just theoretical. Maybe it's being underreported, doesn't mean it is.

China or India?

China is 100% lying about their Covid data. India is too incompetent and poor to do it accurately.

I was being quite conservative about India's Covid death toll being over 2M. Many other reports place it at over 4M.

If they are willing to lie about that. Why not extend the lies to effectiveness of the vaccines?

Forget the FDA. With the right money they will approve what they want

Many countries have experienced less than satisfactory results with Sinopharm, their efficacy numbers particularly for the elderly are questionable.

Look adnj has admitted to insufficient testing by the pnm in order to mask the real covid situation. Testing and tracing is one of the cornerstones of covid response.

I've been making this point since April 2020 but not on this forum. Remember when they were making it seem like doing pcr tests was so damn hard and it was somehow dangerous for private labs to do it? Now, the best option for testing is from a private lab because only if you know a pnm or you are lucky, you can get back your test results through the ministry. And this is only after a minimum of 3 weeks. When you put these factors together, you can see why we have over 1200 deaths.
