Then again , if it reaches the courts , the truth is the best defense for libel/slander.

Police to increase roadblocks and patrols before start of curfew
Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, who confirms that beginning tonight, the TTPS will intensify patrols and roadblocks because of the increase in vehicular traffic two hours prior to the start of the daily 9 pm curfew.
The move also is expected to put a dent in criminal activity, as criminals appear to be using this period to increase their activities, the top cop said.

Coast Guard officers intercepted a pleasure craft with 14 people on board last Thursday including the head of the police legal unit.
But the director of legal Christian Chandler said on Saturday he was not arrested for allegedly breaching covid19 regulations after the vessel he was on was stopped by the Coast Guard off the coast of Chaguaramas.
According to a media release, 14 people were escorted to the Coast Guard headquarters, Staubles Bay, in Chaguaramas after they received information that a pleasure craft had more than five people on board, allegedly contrary to the health regulations which limits the number of people to gather in public.
The release stated that the vessel had eight women and six men on board near Pier 1, just after 8 pm, who were all handed over to the police after the Coast Guard boarded the vessel. The release said investigations by the police are ongoing.
Sunday Newsday understands the vessel, Not Guilty, also had on board police officers.
Both the head of the Coast Guard Captain Don Polo and public affairs officer Lt Khadijah Lamy, referred to the press release when contacted on Saturday by Sunday Newsday for clarity. They said they could not say any more as the matter was now being investigated by the police.
Asked about reports that he had breached the covid19 regulations and was arrested Chandler said: “I was never arrested that is totally false and further at no time did I ever breach the covid19 regulations. This story is just a matter of persons who are hell bent on slandering my name and creating conjecture.”
Chandler has often spoken publicly on laws and circumstances relating to the enforcement of public health regulations in place to prevent the spread of covid19 alongside Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith at Police Administration Building.
Contacted for comment, Griffith denied that his legal adviser was arrested and made no further comment saying the matter was currently under investigation.
Sunday Newsday also sought clarity on the issue from Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi. The Attorney General said even though there may be more than five in a vehicle or any mode of transport, as long as they are not without mask then there is no offence committed.
Asked specifically about Chandler’s situation, Al-Rawi said he will not comment on that as that is an ongoing investigation and will not comment without having full facts.
“Going on a boat to your island home is perfectly lawful. Rafting up and having a party is not. The transportation to your island home is perfectly lawful. Getting in your car and going somewhere is totally lawful. As I told you it really depends on the circumstances of what you’re dealing with.”
Al-Rawi said that only public transportation vehicles are mandated to operate at 75 per cent while all others can operate at full capacity, including vessels.

It's too long for me to go through as I know Gary and Rhoda have a petty personal squabble going on and I don't want to waste time if this is just a continuation.

DRAMA ON THE HIGH SEAS:
Distress call from a woman on board yacht.
Stand-off on the high seas.
Shots fired.
Via the Express Newspaper
Police Commissioner Gary Griffith’s right-hand legal man Christian Chandler is under probe following a distress call from a woman on board Chandler’s yacht, which resulted in a high-seas stand-off involving the vessel, Coast Guard and police.
An Express investigation has revealed officers of the Coastal and Riverine Patrol Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service were forced to fire warning shots when Chandler, head of the TTPS’ Legal Unit, allegedly refused to comply with orders issued by the T&T Coast Guard (TTCG) to allow them to board the vessel.
The drama occurred on August 5, 2021 when a special team of highly trained TTCG officers responded to the distress call of a 27-year-old Maraval woman who claimed she was being held against her will on the vessel owned by Chandler.
Chandler bought the boat from an expat for $910,000 and renamed it Knot Guilty.
At the time of the stand-off, a heavily legally-armed Chandler, 43, of Haleland Park, Maraval, had in his possession one Sig Sauer 9mm pistol and two magazines with 27 rounds of ammunition and one Springfield Armory 5.56 rifle, multi-calibre with EOTech optic, streamlight TLR-1HL, three magazines and 100 rounds 5.56 ammunition green tip, police sources said.
(SEXUAL ADVANCES)
The woman, who has told police she was terrified for her life and afraid of being sexually assaulted, called the wife of Captaìn Don Polo of the TTCG and related that she was on a pleasure craft with heavily armed men, some of whom were off-duty police officers.
She said she was being refused requests to return ashore, and that a man on the boat was being persistent in his sexual advances towards her despite her constant refusal.
The TTCG quickly responded to the distress call and intercepted Chandler’s 45-foot vessel.
The Express understands TTCG officers called out to the captain of the pleasure craft and there was no response.
Officers then indicated they would be boarding the vessel, but were allegedly told they had no authority to do so by Chandler, who proceeded to “use threatening language”, police sources said.
A decision was then taken by TTCG officers to call the Coastal and Riverine Patrol Unit of the TTPS, which arrived via Vessel 001.
Chandler was again told that TTCG officers would be boarding the vessel and he allegedly refused. Warning shots were then fired by the police marine unit.
Soon after, TTCG officers boarded the vessel and detained 14 people, including Chandler. They also confiscated several firearms and searched the vessel but nothing illegal was found.
Police reports identified those detained as the 61-year-old boat captain, five other men, including a 51-year-old businessman, and eight women.
Apart from Chandler, three SRPs attached to the Legal Unit were detained: one who had in his possession a Sig Sauer pistol with two magazines and 31 rounds of ammunition; another with one Glock 19 9mm pistol and one magazine with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition; and the third with one Glock 45 (9mm) pistol and one magazine with 15 rounds 9mm ammunition.
Chandler’s yacht was eventually escorted to Staubles Bay by the TTCG and Coastal Riverine Unit members.
