whats allyuh thoughts on ramdin opening with gayle?
i think he matured a bit after seeing him bat for trinidad a couple times with his goal to rotate strike with the few boundaries?

If Sri Lanka bat first, they should declare at 1-0 off 0.1 overs. England can then get 2 off the 1st ball and then both Sri Lanka and England will qualify. Easy.

I had to withdraw from watching WI match and relied on periodic updates from family members.
The SL vs ENG. match my system seems better able to cope with.
The WI batting just ain't firing as they should and hopefully they will go thru. to next round and get a move on.
What has effectively happened is AUST. and SL. have their tails up and mentally fully believe that this is theirs for the taking.

I feel Australia is we best chance at victory...we have shown unable to bat quality spin and Pakistan has Ajmal, Afridi and Hafeez who is a more than adequate change up bowler whilst India has Ashwin and either Harbhajan or Chawla along with Yuvraj.

With that said though I feel India who would go through as the 2nd place and Australia as the 1st place team.

WI has the capacity to play anybody in the semis and turn things around.
This having been said the WI players have to get into the 'spirit' of this tournament by starting to abandon star status mentality and get down to grappling as a team fighting for recognition.
The players just don't show in their eyes and body language burning desire to prove themselves the best.
Chris Gayle on more than one occasion today seemed disgusted with the urgency in the field by his fellow team members.
....WE STILL IN IT......
WI has gotten a life line and need to grab this opportunity with arms ,legs and anyother appendage that could grab.

They chose Samuels because everyone else was afraid to bowl the final over. During the choice of bowler, men was tossing the ball to each other like it now come out of the oven...

Both of today's matches were very entertaining. W.I. get away by the skin of their teeth...again!

but isnt it the captains job to delegate the person who in his knowledge would be the best person for the job?

Clearly badree or narine is the better bowler....

^You're right, and Narine is normally the go-to man in those situations.

The problem was Narine was used in the 19th over to slow the Kiwi's run rate and Badree had already used his allotment for much the same reason. While that was a good strategy, it left Sammy in a quandary as to who should bowl the final over.

I think they would have gone with Samuels anyway but he's nursing a shoulder injury so they weren't sure if he was up to the task. Luckily the gamble paid off...twice.

big game on now-Aus/Pak

on the windies performance yesterday, like allyuh din see how Mister Samules was pelting them overs, down to Tony Greg pointed out how could a "spinner" with 4-5 steps bowl at 123kmph, ICC would fork he up again, and why is Narine so lazy in the field????????

nice win though they in the semis, hope they work better yes.

I think they chose samuels because he is the "coolest" under pressure.

If they fork up Samuels for his action, I think they should Malinga for his.. He is clearly pelting mango.

Malinga doesn't pelt, he jus has a low sling-arm action which is unusual but not illegal, plus u r allowed a 15 degree bend at ur elbow...

India's exit is unfortunate because they did appeared to be playing well and were very competitive.
The teams are now down to WL,SL,AUS and PAK.
If WI fire look out.
