Ok guys i need some help here.
I dont know rats' ass about projectors and what to look for when buying them.

I say let me start off here because i know a few are using them?

Anyway dad wants one so that he can show presentations. Basic things and nothing too fancy. Any brand i should look for? How much lumens? Resolution of 800x600 good or i should get a 1024x768 instead?
Right now, i was looking at this Viewsonic. But i also saw an Epson. Well our friends have EPSON's and they work great and one of them has theirs for years now without issue so i was thinking to get an EPSON. But what else to look for in them?

Thanks.

Toshiba promises glasses-free 3DTV within 12 months

Toshiba says that within 12 months, it will introduce a 3DTV that will not require viewers to wear special glasses. Details on the model sti ll are scant, but according to one published report, the glasses-free 3DTVs could have their coming-out party at the 2012 International CES. Pocket-Lint.com (U.K.) (4/5),

Guys, im getting a samsung 55" led soon, and i need to get an audio setup for it on a pretty tight budget. Starting with receiver, i narrowed it down to these 2:

Pioneer VSX-521-K
OR
Denon AVR-591

Im having a tough time deciding.
Also, does passing the hdmi signals into the receiver, and then out to the tv have any effect on video quality? or is it better to connect each device directly to the tv via hdmi and use other inputs to get audio to the receiver? The only sources would be my Xbox360, BD player and cable box.

^^ duane cud answer those questions alot better than anyone iv seen here.. so i`ll let him do that

but one thing i do know. the hdmi through the receiver does NOT degrade quality by any means, if anything, depending on the controller the receiver has, it may make things better.

^ yes a good receiver will make things better

I like the Pioneer but the Denon is good too.

Look at the 5.1 speakers that Raptor has for sale Smurf.

the receiver is the HUB of your system - the proper way to connect everything is to plug all your source devices (PS3, Xbox, Blueray, MP3 players) all into the receiver and then plug your output devices (TV, Speakers etc) into the receiver's output.

I'd recommend you get a receiver with a good hd upscsaling processor, the pioneer 920k looks like a pretty good value for money

Another n00b question: Would a good set of budget (oxymoron?) 2.1 speakers significantly improve the audio from a HDTV? Surround wouldn't make sense in this living room and I seldom listen to the TV too loud.

Can you recommend a set?

You mean the Klipsch Promedia 2.1? Dem thing real bad. Beats any logitech system in terms of sound quality.
