Honestly, I'm now sure which one. Flow tech service can be pretty useless at times

Back up again after a half hour chat with a CSR. some 'setting' he enabled from his end. I asked what was the problem was, he wasn't exactly sure. Seems it was a trial and error thing there :?. Whatever. I glad it back up and working

Also, anyone else experiencing severe torrent throttling on flow. Nothing over 5kbps. On my tstt connection full speed immediately.

I changed the DNS servers to Google servers and got back my torrent speeds, this was recently, like 2 days ago

does not matter whats your DNS when downloading torrents....the only impact DNS has is the unnoticeable length of time it may take to connect to peers.

well i was getting shitty speeds, i switched to google dns and restarted the torrent client and got the speeds i supposed to get, then i switched ba k to flow dns and restarted the torrent client again and it went back to like 5kb/s, so i realised there was a problem and switched back to google and left it on that.

so if you can explain that......

Google DNS probably assisted in connected you to better peers with higher upload speeds...Google DNS is public worldwide so its expected.

try using a DNS benchmark application to assist in choosing public DNS servers.

You really just asked that? Only thing worse than blink Internet is greendot and bmobile "4g".

Its cool to hate on Tstt...until of course you try the alternatives. I have flow and tstt internet at home. Flow is definitely superior for sheer download speed but it doesn't do much good if you're interested in torrent downloads because flow seems to arbitrarily throttle... no...CASTRATE speeds (read 5kbps or lower, dial up speeds for the uninitiated)whereas DSL gives me full bandwidth. For the speed they provide and cost of service, tstt DSL is atrocious compared to flow but in terms of stability and reliability it cannot be beat. DSL tech means that you have a one on one connection with the exchange while Flow's shared service can really be a drag depending on the usage patterns of people in your area. As such, I find I prefer gaming on my 2mb DSL as opposed to the flow 20mb because pings are lower and more consistent.

Similarly, bmobile 4g is another hot target of ridicule for many I guess because it is cool to hate on tstt. Ive had 4g service from tstt since launch and thought it was an absolute joke... until my job gave me a digi 4g package. Service in port of Spain is significantly worse than tstt. Side by side, both at home and at work I get significantly better signal strength for data and less dropped calls on tstt than I do on digi. I understand that areas outside port of Spain are great on digi, however for me this is useless as I spend 99% of my time in town. Just my $0.02.

I also have the entertainment package which works ok but I cannot compare it to Flow's because I haven't had flow cable since digital started. Blink entertainment freezes on occasion for a few seconds but I've been told that because we have three boxes under one copper connection this is why that happens. Also in my opinion, I think tstt's endpoint solution for iptv is not very convenient because of the sheer amount of equipment required to make the solution work.
