I find the base A4 drives like toots compared to the previous one...they gone korean-level with soft n' floaty, rather than tight....maybe ppl like floaty on the highway but I find it real yucky]and why de back ah dat red car heng down so???

MG Man I agree even the feedback is even worst than the B7, you actually feel disconnected. It may be great for those who just go from point A to B.

Anyways, already looking at some upgrades. some minor cosmetic stuff.. Like those Interlagos rims.. also want to do a audio upgrade to the Premium 8 head unit aka RCD 510.

Currently have the premium 7 unit installed with 8 speakers.. Sounds really great. but ah want that touch screen on the newer models.

Stefan you will get accustomed to it I remember the first time I drove a Jetta with the DSG I was on a slight incline and thinking it was the standard automatic foot off brake and go, but when it started rolling back it was a WTF moment, but I do like the DSG transmissions after driving manual for 8 years I still can't shift very quick, I still knock the H looking for the gear   .

There is still no word on a Diesel option for the A3 sedan, I would really like to get one of those, might have to special order.

@StefanH2.....bro you sure this is a 2.0tfsi?...far as I am aware only the 1.8tfsi came with dsg in these models?

BTW my old man has an RCD 510 from his b6 Passat for sale if interested...just know there are 3 versions of this head unit,2 of which can use the backup camera if heading that route...

What's the price he's selling the RCD510 for? And what model he has?

wants $1500...first version rcd510 which originally came in your model and can accommodate the backup camera...sound quality is good, but the current a and b version has more power only when recoded...the latter can't take the camera however

I thought DSG only came in from 2010 models?

But yeah... it takes some getting used to. I'm guessing that eagerness to shift to higher gears is what helps the fuel economy for the car.

After you get used to the power, take it to Eco to tune... for more power

Did a bit of restoring to the front of this car; new bumper, fog lights and headlights along with angel eyes. Bumper was damaged, fog lights facing different direction, headlights had cataracts. Some other maintenance issues to sort out and other goodies on its way and more to come soon, God's willing.

Good price.. Does this model require I upgrade the CAN bus module? During my research I saw that upgrading to rcd510 in earlier models Passat caused a battery drain bug. Radio unit basically does not power down, even if the car was switched off.. Do you know if his version as powerful as the Premium 7 I currently have? Dont want to,lose quality nor power.. Is 8 speakers I rockin right now..lol

I'm trying to find out for sure if its a DSG tranny.. Thought I read somewhere that DSG came in some 07 models. Thought mine had it. Will verify for,sure.. Will pop the hood and check.
Sport mode in this car is where it shines.. Holds the gears longer throughout the power band..

will need to scan your car and give me the can bus version or I can do it to know for sure if it needs upgrading... the quality is as your current deck sounds with heavy base..

if your Passat is 2.0tsi..this is the BWA engine which came mated to 6speed torque converter transmission which is shared by the 1.6 Octavia 2 and 2.0 FSI engine....your tranny is good for 286lb ft torque max....

tuned a few of your models and she is a beast in suit and tie..:)

Dam.. Sounds like you know ur stuff.. Its not a tsi.. Its a "FSI".
Im more concerned with fuel economy as opposed to more power. I assume a tune will result in a fuel economy hit. With a 70l tank that cost around $350 - $400 to fill, I'm a bit wary.. Lol.

But I do want to do a scan as you suggested..

DSG models usually have "DSG" on the trasmission selector.

Eco knows his stuff man.... his tunes supposed to increase fuel economy!

^^

I installed one of those LED Ebay kits where the halos change different colors; red, green, blue, white, amber and a few others . Purposely bought them for 2 colors;amber right now as I have stock bulbs and if 6000k HID's are installed, i'll switch them to white.

There are a few here with the retrofitted white.

Anything other than white or amber, would be a charge. I believe bimmers are the only vehicles that get away with the halos.

Let's see the 530!

Looks good! Those are the depo lights? The facelift 530 is quite a powerhouse as is. M5 bumpers really brings out these non M cars and it's a move for me somewhere in the list of things to get done but i'll hold up on the lighting as well for a while till the coil overs (el cheapo NNR), new cross drilled rotors (maybe 540i) and wheels are on.

Plenty potential in terms of looks and slight for improved performance, not that the e39 needs it. Hopefully in the end, this is how it should end up.

Those are the factory headlights...when i was looking for an e39 i wanted an m5. One in good condition go for about $13000-$15000. Had a hard time find one around where i live so i decided to get a 540 6 speed. Found a few but they was out of my price range so i started looking for a 528 and 530. Found this one on craiglist for $6500 already had the M bumpers on it...5 speed box and style 5 17 inch rims with a set of extra wheels and tires for winter...that was a steal. I still want to upgrade to a 540 6 speed...the 530 have good power but sometimes i wish had a lil more and a 6th gear

Waaaays it's been over a year so I forgot

My bad...but you know what this means? You should post some more! Honestly though for some reason I don't consider your car an F30 for some reason. When I said so many F30 on d road I was thinking 316 and 320i cuz they appearing more than B13 and J14.

I only expect 328i in d spotters ched

Wow it really has been over a year! 328i and 320i have the same N20 engine though so it not that special anymore. Actually that same engine thing had me wondering a while back if you could get a F30 320 to output the same power as the 328 with a software tweak. As far as I know even the turbo is the same not sure about the cooling bits tho.
